The "Everyday" show-off thread !

Wow, that takes me back to my modding days man.

I know right? Lately I'm sort of getting back into computers, thing is all my components are a decade old lol. I found an 8pin EPS extension cable, I might just murdermod sleeve it for you ;)

Anyways, got a Transcend 120GB SSD for my parents PC. Its running a SATA2 board, no point getting the latest and greatest

Started digging thru my attic and found my old stash of monster fans. The Nidec 130CFM will go into my case now

Got this as a gift for my brother last week, i5-8300H/8GB/1TB+128GB SSD/Win10/GTX 1050 for Rs.61990 after 5% cashback.
Build quality is OK and those bezels are ugly af but one can't go wrong with the specs at the listed price.
P.S Avoid buying any ASUS laptop warranty extension from Amazon directly, extended warranty can be availed for a fraction of the price from www.asuspromo.in until Sep 30.
Sorry for the potato quality pics, I refuse to replace my 5 yr old SGS3 until it breaks in two :p

^^Problem with buying a laptop it seems is the constant fluctuation in pricing and availability. Plus there are tons of SKU's with minor differences in specs from ASUS at least, getting one that fits the bill is a pita.
I wasn't even looking at the TUF series at first since my brother is a casual gamer at best, I had zeroed in on a particular Vivobook SKU but the price kept swinging wildly if and when it was available over a period of 2 weeks .
Watching him struggle on the old lappy was painful so I got this one instead instead of waiting further. Some people already snagged the one with 1050Ti for 63k, guess that's how it goes with laptops these days.

Don't update to the latest one. I have been facing a lot of issue including WiFi randomly disconnecting, lot is stutter sometimes in YouTube etc. Only way to fix it is by restart

Even with the 6.0 version.. I have been having some issues..
1. Youtube did not work the first 2 to 3 times I tried playing some videos. It would hang and whole thing would become unresponsive. It would notify me that the app is not responding and whether I want to wait or force close it but I cannot select any of the options. Hence hard reboot is the only way to get it working again.
2. There is a power button in the remote, which on pressing turned off the device but I could not turn it back on using the remote. Again I had to do a hard reboot by disconnecting the power and reconnecting.

Hence I'm thinking whether to update or not..

Only thing I'm happy about is that it can play all my x265 content now which the chromecast could not earlier :)

Yes, updated to 8.0

Seems working normal. Watched a movie on Amazon Prime yesterday without any hiccups.

Did you face any of the issues above?

Where did you get this from and for how much?

Didn't get hit by customs too :p
