Why make a section for DTH?

I have already dropped my DTH connection and moved to streaming. Netflix/Amazon Prime + Hotstar VIP is all that is needed. Youtube is an added bonus
No bro.
Dth's section are needed. After all, they are a part of television.
What about the people who are using dth's?

Now everything depends on @Renegade bro

How's that working for you. Cost wise on comparison with DTH/cable?

I think it can be discussed as a sticky thread under Consumer Electronics at best.
under consumer electronics section why a sub forum for Indian dth's cannot be created?

BTW thanks for all of your suggestions.

Pretty good.

I use Hotstar VIP so that was 365 for a year and I get to watch F1 without ads, Cricket and Football are also present. On the sides Hotstar has some series as well to offer. This is Rs. 1 per day
Amazon Prime is an annual subscription that I generally used to use for shopping but The Grand Tour, Grand Prix Driver etc., are a welcome addition. Not to mention anime, other movies and series it has to offer. At 999 for a year it works out to Rs.2.74 a day
Netflix account is shared between 3 more friends for 4 screen plan so that is Rs.200/- a month. This works out to Rs. 6.57 a day.

Let's now compare this to what Tata Sky was costing me. Rs.770.14 for Premium Sports English HD for a month which is Rs.24.84/- a day

So let's tally
Hotstar + Netflix + Amazon Prime = 1 + 2.74 + 6.57 = Rs.10.31 per day
Tata Sky = Rs. 24.84 per day

The best part is - Freedom from ads. I don't blame Tata Sky for this but every channel you turn to what do you see ads. Ads is not something I am keen to watch when I come back home from work. Ads during live F1 races were infuriating especially since the commentary is a direct feed from Sky Sports which unlike Chris Goodwin and Steve Slater don't fill you in on what happened during the break.

In short I felt like I was paying for ads.

The only show I do miss is Forged in Fire on History channel.

There is not enough people interested in it. Also it is like going backwards.
