CPU/Mobo BIOS update query

I have ASRock B450M Pro4-F. I had some issue previously with CPU/MB and I had to RMA.

Now i dont want to go through again. There are couple of BIOS update but with a caveat.

The page say *ASRock do NOT recommend updating this BIOS if Pinnacle, Raven, Summit or Bristol Ridge CPU is being used on your system. I am using 3200G APU - does my CPU falls into any of the mentioned category. I cant seems to locate what family my APU belong but from what I can discern it doesnt belong to any of the above listed family.

Shall I go ahead with BIOS update or let it be as is. Current BIOS is 1.5, latest update available is 2.0.

Your 3200G is a Zen+ based APU which belongs to the Picasso family. The AGESA 1.0.04 BIOS update is not strictly necessary for you as you are on 1.5 which supports the 3200G as its based on AGESA 1.0.0.1+.

The 4 series update was mainly released to fix some random number generator errors with some games with Ryzen 3000 CPUs (Not APUs) as well as enable the chips to hit rated boost clocks more consistently.

Heck I use a Ryzen 9 3900X on a Asus Crosshair VI Hero and I am running without a hitch on a 1.0.0.3 based BIOS.
 
Updated the BIOS :p It corrupted the MBR had to restore the MBR and Grub2 but everything worked fine.

Hoping the Zen+ core will find some solace with new AGESA :p

This is a problem with AMD kinda like Android back in the day. It is more powerful than Intel at the same price but not hassle free like Intel at all.
I had a lot of issues running 3200 CL14 on 1.25V on a 3900X.

Is it really the old MBR format or is it GPT actually? What distro do you use?

MBR, I only have a single 120GB SSD. No point in going for GPT for such size. I don't forsee any tangible benefits moreover I don't have a backup device atm for the conversion. Not that I have much data locally but still I am lazy to do that :p

Maybe it lost the device disk stat/port? Not sure what happened but it won't load anytthing form that SSD. Reinstalling grub brought the grub rescue prompt and from there on I was able to navigate and boot into linux.
