Budget 51-70k Gaming PC - Need a CPU+mobo+RAM upgrade suggestion

Dear Friends,
I have a gaming PC with the following brief configuration
Core 2 xtreme 9650
Asus Rampage formula MB.
Geforce 1080TI graphics card
Gskill DDR2 RAM 4GB
3x24" in a triple monitor setup

I am not able to play recent games because of SSE4.2 instructions requirement eventhough I think my PC is more than capable. Eg; Assassins creed odyssey, Control etc. So thinking of upgrading CPU+MOBO+RAM. Requirements are that the upgrade should justify the graphics card I have and should not be a bottleneck. Budget is flexible.

Thanks

Just throwing it out there, maybe others can make it better.

A good B550 Mobo (though, I'd persoanlly recommend B450 mobo), Ryzen 7 3700 (if you are overclocking, get the 3700X) and maybe a 32GB of DDR4 RAM. Might be overkill for wha you are looking for but agaim throwing it out there!

3600 + B450 + 2x8GB DDR4 3200 MHz, cost me 29.2k as of last week.

EDIT: Just saw your budget, you can go all out but I personally wouldn't spend that much at this time.
Ryzen 4000 series is due out towards the end of the year. You could buy a X570 board and pair it with a 3300x for now and upgrade the CPU later.

B450 and DDR4 models?

Cost me 6500 + 6700 respectively along with R5 3600 for 16k, so 29.2k shipped.
Bear in mind that prices seem to have increased post lockdown.

I wanted to go with ASRock B450 Steel Legend or MSI Tomahawk Max but their prices have increased by 1k, also I don't like paying RGB tax.
If you want RGB you can get Team Force Delta RGB 3000 MHz for 7900.

Folks, any feedback on ASrock X570 steel legend mobo? Seems like an excellent VFM
If your usage is about PCIe 4.0 and want to do some overclocking, then indeed its a good mobo, VRMs are decent. But remember there are no gpu from Nvidia right now which run on full PCIe 4.0 capacity. But some news reporting 3080 Ti will support PCIe 4.0. Also it support Ryzen 4.

Its up to you, that you want to do future proofing or not.

Yes. I intend to buy future proof. My current config is 12 years old except the graphics card as I invest quite heavily in high end future proof products.

Then go for it, you can buy a low-end 2nd gen Ryzen or second-hand ryzen in meantime, and go for 4th gen whenever it launch.

Do note that AM4 is on it's last legs. Possibly next year, AM5 will be debut with DDR5 memory support.

So if you are looking to max out, couple X570 mobo with something like say Ryzen 7 48xx or more. This should last you quite long. But then again no more CPU upgrades; it would be platform upgrade like what you are doing right now.

Thanks for this input. This is a consideration for sure. Any idea when is AM5 expected? If it is going to be a year from now I will take the plunge right now

4th gen has launched but only for OEMs :/ . Not sure when retail will launch. Planning to take the plunge with Gen 3. What say folks?

AM5 is difficult ,amd wont release early ,intel has nothing to offer ,new procs would be on server side in 2021 ,wait for few months we will have 4000 series desktop CPu and i dont see an SSD in your system
