CPU - AMD R5 3600 - 17k

Mobo - Asrock B450 Pro4 - 7.5k*

RAM - 2x8GB DDR4 3200MHz - 6.6k

GPU - Zotac GTX 1650 - 12k ??

PSU - Corsair CX550 - 4.8k

Cabinet - MSI MAG Forge 100M - 4.7k

Total - 52.6k

Covid has pushed up prices, same would have costed ~48k earlier.

* ASUS TUF B450M Pro Gaming - 8k is another good option, both need the latest BIOS to run 3rd gen Ryzen CPUs, but most seller have latest stock with BIOS pre-installed these days. Do enquire. Or maybe Gigabyte B550 Gaming X for 11.7k.

Check primeabgb, mdcomputers, theitdepot (online stores) for PC parts at a good price.

Thank you for the response. The motherboard is the most confusing bit for me now. The Asrock B450 Pro4 is not in stock anywhere. Can you share a link to somewhere it can be found.
Found this https://www.theitwares.com/asrock-f...a-6gb-s-usb-3-1-hdmi-atx-amd-motherboard.html . IS it any good? What about the website. Is that good?
Should I go for Gigabyte B550 Gaming X for 11.7k. The Asus B550 Boards available for that price range dont seem to have good/any VRM cooling and has very bad reviews.
The Gigabyte board has poor IO but don't know about the VRAM or other quality of the board.

The cabinet looks good. I was looking at the corsair 100R. But the MSI one comes with three fans and has dust filters too. How does the Corsair 100R compare with the MSI. Was planning to add https://www.primeabgb.com/online-price-reviews-india/cooler-master-r4-s2s-124k-gp-120mm-case-fan/ to the corsair 100R. Guess the MSI with three fans will not need extra case fans.

Corona & China have create some supply chain issues. Maybe try local shops. B550s are expensive IMO, good ones cost 15k, which is a lot.

MSI one is just the better case. If you get Corsair 100R, yeah it will work fine enough, but you will likely have to swap out CPU cooler as well, as the one included with R5 3600 isn't a great one. So inside a case w/o good airflow, it will run hot, you might have to invest in a better cooler.

Can guarantee that ports have released Chineese goods just picked a DAv2 ,

On motherboard front i would rather say if you are not going to game or OC we might have amd A520 based boards in a while ,or go for cheapest b450 where you have a nearby service center / or known to provide good service ,non OC boards should hold up well ,transfer that money to Nvidia gpu budget get good used GPU or new one it significantly reduces rendering time .

I am assuming you would use Adobe premiere Pro.

Adobe already has HW recommendations w.r.t resolution in which you are going to render as well as amount of RAM

Following is a link where they have mentioned which effects use GPU while exporting

Would have gone for Asrock B450 Pro4 if available. Guess only option is waiting.

Then MSI mag forge it is. (Any better suggestions are still welcome). Usually as for my usage the system wil be in continuous usage. So thermals and cooling becomes all the more important.

So I guess I can wait a maximum of two weeks. May not be able to wait longer as am currently working with a loaner laptop.

About the GPU accelaration, are Nvidia GPU better with video editing and accelaration support. I thought amd had better price/performance. So should I prefer Nvidia. Was looking at second hand GPU market and found Asus Dual RX 580 8GB with 5 month warranty for 12k and Asus strix RX 570 4GB with 1 yr warranty for 9.5k. So will the Nvidia 1660 or 1650 be a better choice for my use case.

It totally depends , AMD undoubtedly is VFM on the gaming side ,But nvidia is leaps and bound ahead on the professional graphics side many major proffesional software supports nvidia cuda cores ,nvidia quadros are dedicated for such requirements ,it would be very difficult to sell a quadro in second hand.if you purchase quadro they favor professional side of things not good at gaming.

Link to understand Quadro`s usage

I thought all Quadro cards are priced higher. For my budget range is quadro an option. Primier pro and some other editing software explicitly mention support for NVIDIA Cuda and even list out the effects supported as pointed out by you in the earlier msg. But couldn't find any reference to similar implementation by AMD. Only thing was OpenCL support in AMD GPUs. Is their competiting technology from AMD side comparable to CUDA from Nvidia. I guess even if there is something like that the software support is not great as that for CUDA. Anyways I think it would be better to look at cards from both sides in the same price range and check their performance with video editing software using all assisting technologies like CUDA. Suggestions please

On adobe website ,one thread for RX 580 user

Not sure on this one but new Rx 580 sells for 16 k so spending 12k on second hand not the best deal even if you go with AMD

This will settle all of your queries regarding your setup

So I guess nvidia is th way to go. They have also mentioned intel quicksync. Thats only for Exporting decoding and encoding. For all other rendering tasks and filters I guess CUDA is the best option. Also I think its better to go with 16 GB single stick ram for now and add another 16 GB in 6-12 months. What about the processor comparison between AMD 2700 and 3600. 3600 has better IPC and single core performance and 2700 has more cores. So which will be useful for my use case. Which will be the better choice given both are retailing for similar price.

IPC wins ,but again depends on the work load , i even wanted to suggest a new 1700 at 10 k or used or 3300x good IPC less cores.

About GPU for your budget
1080
*1070ti -good amount of cuda core and higher clocks and 8 gb vram,my choice
*1070-
Rtx 2060
Gtx 1660ti

And please add atleast hyper 212 cpu cooler for your processorr ,many are there in used thread

Was looking into this stuff. And reading and going down the rabbit hole, i think it would be better to go with 3600. My primary workload now involves photo editing with Lightroom and luminar and designing with photoshop. For these programs they perform better with higher IPC except for some tasks where they would use more cores or GPU. For video editing, which has not yet taken up major portion of the workload for me but high chance to equally share time with photo editing and designing tasks, more cores and GPU are important. So mostly for tasks that I would spend time in front of the monitor(like scrolling through images, loading the full size previews, applying simple edits/corrections etc) IPC decides the performance and for some tasks like rendering and exports (and some specialized tasks) more core count is important. The thing is I can leave the system alone and focus on something else while it renders or exports. So wont take up my time.
From this I think best way to go is 8 core Zen 2 processor, but they are way out of budget. So the next best thing would be Ryzen 3600.

Actually New ryzen 4000 APUs would have been ideal for me. I could get the 6 or even better 8 core one now and use integrated vega GPU for now and once next gen GPUs release and the price of current gen comes down I could have gone for a discrete GPU. But alas ryzen 4000 APU is not for sale to us folks.

Guys please go through this. Please tell e if am wrong. Also if there are any better options they are more than welcome. Thank you for your continued support

The only problem with that idea is those are only for OEM ,you wont be able to buy them for now

what i would like to suggest is , do your normal stuff keep an eye on the CPU ,also your colleagues if they do the same stuff ,query them whether at any point all core were utilized at 100% or not.

Get b450 ,R7 1700 value processor 16 threads @ 10 k or any of the 3100 or 3300x @11 8 threads 3300x has may be slight better ipc than 3600 , saves around 6 k

you can use that 6 k for extra RAM or GPU

They have a productivity benchmark section. They test using photoshop and primere and other productivity softwares. in many cases the 3600 is equal or just behind the 1700 and in case of Photoshop 3600 is way ahead of 1700. Given that 1700 is listed for 12500 now, I guess the overall results favours 3600 for my workload
The pugeut systems benchmarks also favour 3600 for photoshop and primeire workloads. As per their analysis both software are dependent on the IPC and single core performance for the regular tasks and multi core performance for specialized tasks and they are improving the multi threaded performance

You could may be go ahead with thid plan as some of the european retailers have started selling Renoir APu ,I am not aware about India market.

Thats one option. i am trying to get a laptop or PC to use in the mean time from my friends. If that works out I may be able to wait for the 4000 renoir. Hopefully AMD will not delay the retail release by much as vermeer CPUs are rumoured to be released by august-september. If this works out I may be able to get a 8 core APU and differ the GPU purchase to after the release of next gen GPUs bringing a sweet deal to current or previous gen GPU. But thats a lot of IFs that the problem. Atleast the supply issues would subside and prices will be normal again.

Guys I was not able to arrange another PC continuing my work for the meantime. So I thought I would go with the following configuration now. The CPU ryzen 5 3600 and the GPU has been swapped out and replaced with Ryzen 2400G. I have kept all other components including the case and PSU same as per the recommendations. I think this will allow me to directly upgrade to a renoir APU (after release of AMD 4000 series) or a better GPU once next gen parts are available( the release of Next gen GPU from Nvidia and AMD might make the current gen models cheaper). Also I will get to decide on which of this upgrade to go for first based on my usage (will be monitoring it). So here goes the base config.

CPU - AMD R5 2400 - 10.9k

Mobo - Asrock B450 Pro4 - 8.6k

RAM - G.Skill RipjawsV F4-3200MHz 16GB DDR4 - 6k

GPU - integrated

PSU - Corsair CX550 - 4.6k

Cabinet - MSI MAG Forge 100M - 4.6k

Wifi adapter - TP-Link TL-WN823N - 0.6k

SSD - Samsung 860 Evo 250 GB - already own this

HDD - Western Digital BLACK SERIES 750 GB 7200RPM - already own this

Total - 35.3k

Please suggest any changes to this if needed. I know this is not the best system for me right now. but I guess this will serve as a base system for up gradation. I wanted to make sure that I can straight away swap the CPU or add a GPU to this without changing the any other components (say PSU or cabinet or MBD).
