Thermal Paste Suggestion

Guys please suggest me a thermal paste, both for CPU (6700K) and GPU (GTX 970). I have the U12S cooler and it came with NH1 paste but I emptied the tube couple of years ago. Today I noticed CPU going up to 69 on avg. on all cores and GPU hitting 80 degrees, with hot spot at 94! Room temp was around 31.8.

So looking for something with good performance on par if not better than NH1 but not very costly.
 
NT-H1 is a very good paste, you should keep using it without any doubt. I have a 10g syringe myself. If you wanna change you can go with Arctic MX4, it ain't any better though.

A 10g tube of the same Nh1 will go a long way
 
Kryonaut - hands down the best paste this side of liquid metal. Just very expensive.

Stopped using every other paste now as this is like 4-5 degrees superior to the likes of noctua, as5, mx4 etc.
 
Get Arctic MX4 or MX5 if within strict budget, else get Kryonaut. All of these are better than NT H1 (that comes with Noctua coolers).
Absolutely not true.


He has old videos too with NT-H1 and MX4. There are other benchmarks for MX4 and NT-H1 as well, see them for more details.
MX4/5 and NT-H1/2 both fall largely under same category and performance.
Kyronaut obviously is in another tier but very bad value for money.

Thanks for all the suggestions fellas. Going to order the MX5 from Primeabgb. Choosing the Arctic over Noctua as I read its performance is better in long term, not sure how legible those feedback are. though.
 
Used NT-H1 for my laptop CPU/GPU. Been 10 months now and it has held up really well. The 10g tube does make it more VFM as Kyronaut just seems too expensive for run of the mill repasting.

I have been using arctic MX4 everywhere and it has not disappointed me. CPU, GPU, XBOX , PS4 and love it. Best part is that the thermal compound is non conductive in nature so even if you mess up and some thermal compound seeps here and there , then there is nothing to worry. Works fine with all the devices.

I am absolutely scared of using liquid metal or AS5 as they are conductive. One small drip somewhere unwanted and it's bye bye time for that device.

PS: I am bit confused here. MX5 and AS5 are same right? Photos on MD website of MX5 looks different than the one with primeabgb!!

Arctic Silver 5 was formulated to conduct heat, not electricity.
(While much safer than electrically conductive silver and copper greases, Arctic Silver 5 should be kept away from electrical traces, pins, and leads. While it is not electrically conductive, the compound is very slightly capacitive and could potentially cause problems if it bridges two close-proximity electrical paths.)
The last time I used AS5 was in late 2008 or thereabouts. Back then people used to say it was conductive. Looks like it has changed since then.
 
Why is no one suggesting Gelid GC-Extreme? You get 3.5g for 680~Rs.with Gelid compared to Kryonaut where you get 1g for 600Rs~

It did good in guru3D's thermal paste comparison.

Guys as this will be my very first time, please refer me to a demonstration video of how to apply TIM on GPUs. My card is a Asus Strix 970. I have never opened a GPU before lol.
