A query. For a non Prime Amazon a/c is it possible to select a delivery time window while placing the order or afterwards somehow? I am so done with their early morning deliveries. I wake up at 10 am on most days and these guys would come around 9 and start messaging from 7 AM.

Not 100%, you can however select general delivery timing slots somewhere in your account preferences, set as office & they will have certain start & cut off times, if you keep it as a home they'll wait for you to catch a nap & hit the doorbell.
Since we are talking about delivery boys and how annoying it can be sometimes to get our parcels at awkward times( happened to me too and in my case I almost lost my mind once but soon thankfully controlled my senses and politely handled it because I got delivery at 11pm in night ) ..just a thought please do consider that these young boys and sometimes really old people too walk,bicycle kilometres everyday with heavy bags to deliver stuffs even in rain and heat of the summer.
I am staying in hilly area now and seen delhivery guys coming with loads of packages very dangerously kept in their scooters.
They get about Rs 20-30 per delivery and I have seen people making them wait for long time to pay and also accepting them to have change all time and then shouting them for not having change .
This is just giving it a thought in general and respecting their work so don't take this personal . So little inconvenience to us but they have a tough job too.
Btw the messages that products are out for delivery early morning is usually that is when it gets scanned out and distributed among the delivery boys and they start early because they want to make as much money in a day as possible ( delivering 10 parcels get them Rs 200 or so per day)

Ha ha thanks. Added my own address, the same one, but changed type to Office instead of Home. For Office it's 10 AM - 6 PM, at least unlike Home which is 7 AM - 9 PM. Who the hell wakes up at 7 AM I wonder. Even if someone does who would like courier knocking on the door first thing in the morning! Ridiculous timing scheme.
Complimentary wake up call, like they used to do in hotels if you ask them.

Delhivery, DTDC, Bluedart are good while FedEx is super bad.
Normally heavy parcels are delivered by different team and vice versa.
And they deliver taking into account the distance from their franchise. From the furtherst point to nearest point of the franchise they deliver.
We end users should sometimes tip them and offer them a cup of tea or coffee.
Likewise is the case of Swiggy & Zomato delivery boys as well. Sometimes they need to be offered tips to encourage them not be harsh or rude to them.
Here like the TRP ratings of any media channel anything video graphed is immediately put in social media channels and everybody comments on them without knowing what actually happened.
Be kind and let that affection Transcend.
Oh how lovely, like this is a civilised nation. Last time I spoke of some rude behaving AZ delivery personnel, someone started lecturing about geopolitical crap, which he must have read on some book. I mean there's a difference between living in the books, preaching, and then living in the real world.
Do show your kindness to these people, invite them inside your pvt residence for coffee/tea or what have you, you have my best. But just be careful, you know what I mean. From transcending love and affection, it could be a whole different thing which may be transcended.

My last parcel in last month was delivered by 9:30p during dinner time by a lady. I appreciated her efforts to deliver at such times and also told her even if she could have delivered it next day that would have been completely fine but she replied not everyone is kind enough and people need it by the promised date no matter the time.
Feels sad that eod they too. are humans committed to their jobs but being a human, we as customer too. should understand and let it cut loose!
I'm only anxious for delhivery and shitrocket as they are literally untraceable etc. Fedex is a total no no on this planet for me.
Rest for dtdc, bluedart, maruti, indiapost its a breeze!
For me, zomato and swiggy boys sometimes act like dimwits. They stand inf front of my building yet keep looking for the same building, wing and flat. Its like kahase aat hai aise illiterates.. basic directions as well they dont understand. I straightway give them 1 star rating!

Yes indeed shitrocket does not allow us to choose and Delhivery franchise boys locally are over working I suppose because sometimes I need to hand them my parcels put for pickup and even deliveries get delivered late but they deliver at least.
I forgot Maruti couriers for once as one of my parcels got delivered from TE seller based out of Mumbai. Good delivery they did within short time I suppose.
Never had any issue with shiprocket and using delhivery, bluedart, mostly...sometimes ekart or fedex.....haven't had any issues so far.
Thats quite harsh. If physics PhDs start delivering our orders , the delivery fees won't be the 30 rupees per order that we pay now. We are paying peanuts for delivery and that's why these jobs attract a certain calibre of people. Chastising them for being at that level is just too harsh.

And no one is doing any favour to anyone offering a job as they get paid and a certain level of commonsense is expected from any individual given any job hence they get hired.
This industry has a very high churn. So there are many who are in the first month of the job. Also many read English letter by letter so not sure if they can read and comprehend the society names easily. Whatever the reasons, given the huge undersupply of delivery personnel right now, the situation might not get better anytime soon.
The poor ratings hit their incentive earnings. If them not being able to understand the location is enough annoyance to hit their earnings, that is for you to decide. Personally, I don't rate anyone poorly if they have not misbehaved. You maybe want to penalize incompetence and that is a perfectly alright thing to do as well. To each his own.

Great, but that does not allow a cut off between morning & afternoon. All it does it trim the home start and end times.
After experiencing bigbasket's time slots. Amazon seems 20 years behind. I mean not much has changed here since i first used amazon in the states (!)
It's literally down to individual circumstances. In some places they will deliver first thing in the morning, elsewhere in the afternoon but the window is quite wide. At least six hours.
I would love it if Amazon offered an evening only option. Hell, i' even pay for the convenience.
Kindness goes a long way. I never take it out on the delivery guys. Most to me are 5/5. They are the modern day equivalent of essential workers. Plain and simple.
The company reps at the CC however i do get to blast from time to time.
At least they call when they arrived. I've had a few of these characters call to tell me they are on the way. Not arrived. On the way and the bugger is at least 5-10 mins away
