Forum Feedback Even after doing a successful deal on TE I still have to face moderator approval for each comment.

how can I be promoted from recruit, had 1 trade and has been here from 2020 and still can't post on classifieds and without mod permission.
 
I need to know if everyone has to face a moderator approval after posting their comments? Also, I don't have a way to directly PM anyone. So for making a deal I have to comment on their posts. When will I get that option to directly PM a user?
Yes, I also want to be able to post some sell threads. How is that possible?
It makes me feel as if this community is a lot closed for the newcomers like us.

Hello there,
As a newbie, I am unable to DM members when interested in knowing more about the item that one is selling.
Sometimes I will have to wait for days, in order for my comment to be visible on the post.
I am not blaming any of the moderators here.
But, with DM it would be better and faster to contact the members.
Hence, I would suggest admins to come up with any new system for enabling DM to newbies.

Let us know where the 5 trophy post requirement is mentioned, so we'll update it.
In the meantime, you can check Sticky threads in Classifieds section. Look for - 'Why am I not able to post a 'For Sale' thread?'

Classifieds

Sell/buy/trade hardware/software/games. Read the rules before you post. You need at least 5 trophy points to be able to start a sale thread.

I'm in the same boat. Have got 7 trophy points. Done two deals from the forum members but still can't start a sale thread.

I suggest there should be some relaxation to this. At least for people who have done more than 1 deal

I am not doubting you mate, but I've read in one of the threads wherein a user opened 2 accounts to boost his feedback, eventually both got banned.
Again, am not doubting your intentions, for the safety of entire forum members, mods & the forum admins have put in barriers and roadblocks to minimize possible bad experiences, enjoy your time in the forum, you'll get there & you'll make friends along the way :)
 
Since many new members don't know why we had to implement strict rules so I'll rewind a bit and walk through why such precautions were taken.
- There were cases when members got spam messages with XXX images and links to other sites (If I remember correctly then there were few links with malware as well)
- New members scammed people during GPU shortage and people lost money (since the sale thread was posted when no mod was online and by the time any action was taken money was transferred, Just imagine losing 10k token money from 2~3 people)
- Old member accounts were hacked to scam people

Since TE is a Tech forum with a small section for buy/sell, the common consensus was to take strict action and all these issues were related to messages and marketplace. No one is saying that new members are bad but for the sake of safety we have to be strict and vigilant

You might have done these deals prior to new rules in place or you might be a buyer in sale threads. New rules that came in because of details like what @kartikoli mentioned and many more.
Rules are same for everyone. Not too hard if one makes quality posts in tech sections of the forum. Eventually one gets there and then can post in sale section
 
I quite agree with @puns. Initially I myself found it annoying of the terms that needed be fulfilled in order to put up a sale post. Searched threads where I count put up comments but over a few days or so it was interesting helping out people and in doing so fulfilled the requirements too. Its indirectly about the time you've given the forum. You'll eventually get the access even-though you need to sell on urgent basis.

Yeah even I'm looking for an answer to this. I fully understand the rules for market section where one needs at least messages + old membership. But even when I post in Tech section all my messages first go through mod. I don't have any issues with this but it'll be good to know when this cap gets lifted.
