Most modern websites redirect http connections to https ones. This one should too. It's important for security and most people might not notice http connection being used.

I am using Firefox BTW. I fixed it for myself by enabling HTTPS only mode in firefox settings. I noticed this because welcome message links are all http.

Yeah. On mobile (firefox), by default, if I out website link without https in browser, it opens http and showz I am not logged in. I have to manually go edit url and it shows I'm logged in again.

This. I was confused for a sec. Thought I was on a fake site.
