Market Feedback How bumps work

Yes, I am using the forum's bump feature rather than posting and bumping. Is there something wrong with that?
Instead of a 'bump' post. The below post gets posted again and again.
You can't do that with the orange version. But it's great for people who don't have a colour preference. But I get your point, I'll slash the price further down to Rs.7500.
@puns @logistopath @Crazy_Eddy @renegade Kindly look into this.

@MadAxe, this very well could be how the bump feature actually works. Deleting the last post and posting it again with the current timestamp would change the last reply timestamp essentially bumping the thread without doing anything else.

This way, at the DB level, you wouldn't have to code any new variable called 'bump' and put its timestamp over the actual timestamp.

@scarletwitch If this bump feature reposts the last post made instead of posting 'bump', then it is impractical. Nobody wants to know that the orange Apple Homepod Mini cannot be bought for 7650 on FK, for the nth time. No offence.

@MadAxe , That is the entire point of it. It might be impractical from your point of view but from the hosting and moderation point of view, it aims at bumping the thread without putting a new post with "bump" in it again and again keeping the forum clean and the DB lean.

You can argue that you don't want to see the last post again but is that REALLY better from seeing 50 meaningless bump posts and actually trying to find what the last message was?

Again, I am just guessing how the plugin works.

Are you seeing multiple instances of the same post?

OK I have to ask this now. Been noticing this for a while. I saw this thread like 2 days ago. Now I see this again but this time it shows 1 hr ago. So what's going on here?

That is the logic behind how bumps work even originally.
I don't think so. The sole purpose of bump was to push your sale thread to top, without manipulating the date of OP. Anyway, don't want to argue on this. Whatever the mods decide is final after all. But I can't tolerate any kind of manipulation, so spoke out.

without manipulating the date of OP.
The date of post of the FS thread has no relevance because it doesn't affect the original purchase date of the item nor the condition of it. Besides you can always check the date of post by using the item pictures which have username and date as per rules.
And no one is arguing, it's a healthy discussion with no cuss words and actually on-topic.

@Mods requires intervention on this thread user is editing the last comment and getting free bump like a coward without comment., these type of cheap tricks will not entertain in TE
Mods correct me if i wrong or delete this post and let the user will get free bump !

The bump feature is very weird.

It shows the last post on the thread as if it was made just the moment when the thread was bumped regardless of when the last post was made. I don't think that bump feature should alter the date of the last post on the thread.
Will be helpful for WTB but I don't see much relevance in FS.

I agree it's confusing and causes deja vu. But the alternative is pages and pages of seller posting nothing but "Bump". I think someone posted a screenshot which showed more results for the word "bump" than "Intel" in this forum lol
