Tent Repair- 3D Printing or Plastic Welding Suggestions needed.

Hello Guys,

I have a beautiful tent procured from abroad at very high cost $250 plus tax. It has served me very well.

It has been used for long time and still strong but sometime back a part got broken. It holds the rent pole in place.

Pics attached.

It is discontinued in USA or maybe I could have claimed it and also no one in USA coming as of now and getting it shipped for such small part is costly and let's not forget our customs..(they can behave like kidney chor ) so was wondering if ...

3D printing of the part makes sense or has anyone good idea of plastic weilding.
(Pic attached )

My question is.
1) are 3D printed parts strong enough to take some abuse ( strong winds and heavy rains ) ?
Same question for plastic weilding?
Don't want tent falling over me due to poor parts.

2) how much will be the cost for both?

3) any suggestions where I can get 3D printing done online?.

Thanks.

I would need some better and stronger fix.
Araldite is one of the strongest adhesives known.
3D printing with Poly (high tensile strength) will be a costly endeavour, not to mention that you will need to obtain a model first as well. You can try asking Robu for a quotation.

Araldite ?
Done.
Thanks.

Put Araldite plus zip-tie it to give it more stronger construction.

Zip tie banane wale ...

edit:
Tried pitching it. It failed . Could not take load even with zip-tie.

Trying to contact the company and see if they can ship it for free to India as repair part.

Got a reply from the company and they were ready to replace the part but shipping extra to India ..one thing though even after 7 years they were ready to support their discountinued product.
This is real customer service.
Company name is Big Agnes. A major outdoor brand.
.
Decathlon once made it so tough for me to get a in warranty product exchanged that I literally had to threaten them about publishing it in outdoor journals.

also thanks to @anmolbhard004 who offered to help me and bring it to India for me.
Much appreciated bro.

Much appreciated bro again.
