Help me buy 1.5 ton 3 star Ac

Apparently, china and japan have much better acs, like 50% more efficient than ours.
One video says that from next year there is a bump, from 5 to 5.6 for 5 star and yes current 5 becomes 4 etc. Not sure if this is confirmed.

Some people suggest that we should be more aggressive and 5 should ideally be 1, ie starting point.
It seems upgrade was due from 2025 but they deferred it to 2026

Recently, my friend bought VOLTAS1.5 ton 5-star AC (model: 183v Vertis Zephyr GOLD) for 38k (offline). It has a 5100W cooling capacity and Good standard Warranty. If u can find one snag it!
Other than this DAIKIN, LLyod, Panasonic have good cooling capacity and some more features.

Given so many issues with Split AC installation, would Window AC be a good option?
Especially if we're not aiming for more than 1.5ton anyway, and let us assume we have the provision to install Window AC easily too.

What are the disadvantages of going for Window AC, aside from the sound and the hard installation?

Cooling capacity is pretty low with this 1.5ton ac, its like 1.2/1.3 ton
You are correct. Manufacturers play this stupid game of advertising ACs as 1/1.5/2 ton but the actual cooling power (cooling capacity in watts) is lowered to increase energy efficiency rating (ISEER stars). Not everyone does this but it's hella dirty and I don't know why it's not outright illegal. 1 ton should be 3500 (W) and 1.5 ton should be 5250 (W).
There are also sizes like 0.8 ton and 1.2 ton ACs on the market which I would assume correctly reflect their cooling power so it's not like manufacturers aren't aware of this.

Good deal they got. For 38k one would expect a 1 ton AC.

Yeah. We went to specifically buy the 3 star model which costs 33k online. But they were adamant to buy offline. Offline 3-star costs 35k so we decided to get the 5 star for 38k after some negotiation. We also bought a stabilizer from then for 4K
