That's because GPU's don't have native support for bfloat16. Bfloat16 was developed by Google specifically for their TPU's. You can still get these much smaller model sizes and faster inference by applying post training quantization on a already trained model.

I 100% agree with OP. I think I posted about this in the past too. It's just a good practice/ design to add a clearly visible reason when someone is banned. I hope the mods or admin seriously consider adding this system.
