There are two red one? The red + black one is a design from Zaph audio. You can see it again in pic 6 alongside the larger floorstander when I finally managed to get the finish to an acceptable level. The initial woodwork was very badly messed up by the carpenter, forcing me to use the two-tone...

Here are some older builds I've done. Presented for your enjoyment while I get on with completing the last two in this batch. The large 3-way floorstanders are still my main speakers as of this writing. Only one pair of all shown here are commercial, rest are DIY builds. Only one of all of...

Some pics of a pair I built in 2020, but now redone with a coat of PU. Drivers are of an older vintage - it's a full range driver (the yellow one) with a ribbon pod tweeter and a side mounted 8" woofer. The woofer has got a bit cruddy with age and looks a bit worse for the wear, but it does...

Thanks to the mods for moving the thread :) -------------------------------------------------- I started when I was 13. That was 40 years ago. I didn't have books or YT. Just magazines and a very, very patient and generous father. My cousin was building a kit amplifier (which never worked and...

Those are tiny :) They're only 100VA each and the smallest of amplifier transformers (I might have a 60VA lying around somewhere). Someday I'll share some shots of the 2KvA monster I used in a Class A Amplifier build. That thing weighed 9 kg all by itself. It was like moving a shotput. They're...

This is how April and May are gonna go. This is a living room internet radio setup for music, mostly. Fills in the background when I'm working, which isn't often. It's a semi-active setup with one amplifier for the "Woofer" and the other to drive the other two. There is a proper crossover...

    Need Help buying Audio DAC/Amplifier.

I've provided a few options (M2 and K7) but yes, increasing the budget would help. Unsure of what options are available outside of Chi-fi, I don't listen much to headphones and haven't bought a DAC in that price range for some time now. A cursory look at the HeadphoneZone site showed me no good...

    Need Help buying Audio DAC/Amplifier.

For desktop headphone use there is little difference, I believe the headphone section is the same, as is the upstream chipset. The ADC is better on the M4, so for recording that's a better bet. The Out3/out4 on the MOTU also have no volume control, so be warned if ever using those.

    Need Help buying Audio DAC/Amplifier.

Having actually owned the original DX3, I would stay away. The amp was changed from a discrete setup to a power opamp, and the unit had quite a few firmware issues including turning off by itself. I would not use a Chi-Fi product at all, all of them have some issue or the other because of their...

[OT] My subscription is no longer getting deducted for my credit card. Can any of present subscribers comment on how to renew the subscription? F1TV does not seem to be a registered subscription provider and recurring payments are not allowed for such merchants. {Solved] Never mind, added a new...

    FS: Others 3D Printing Service

Do you offer modelling services as well for those of us who can't generate printer-ready files but can provide dimensional drawings? I build a lot of speakers, and would like to know if you can print enclosures which I can use to prototype designs. The size seems fine for some smaller units I...

CPU/Mobo Updated Database for AM5 motherboards

AMD Lane roulette is back. enjoyed playing this game in the 90s and early 00's. For reference, those running PCIe 4.0 cards like the RTX 4090 will run at x8, but PCIe 4.0, which is = PCIe 3.0 x 16 - from 12 years ago. Whee! Such speed!
