On linux here, haven't required anything (yet). I guess part of it is thanks to package managers, and the other being everything is now a webapp lol

Just a note that if you've a good PSU that has low idle watt, then your big fat PC can also be a really efficient server. Additionally, you could use SnapRAID + mergerfs to run the HDDs only when you use them and not all the time.

I doubt. Maybe for a rare breed. Most business owners who can afford that also live in areas where OFC or "AirFiber" is available, and are often cheaper and more reliable.

Not good tbh. I've used it, and while it does look nice, I don't think it's fair to compare it with eInk. I got my Kindle PW yesterday, and the difference is huge. The closest that comes to my Kindle is the transflective LCD used in my Amazfit Bip S. It's colorful, but it's nearly not as bright...
