Great speed in India, Poor speed abroad

Same case with Joister as well. They have very limited international bandwidth. If possible, opt for a VPN which have servers in India.

    Joister Broadband

@TigerKing I would not suggest Joister to you. They do traffic shaping for a lot of websites, hence you would not get good speed for many international website. See my posts above. I do not get good speed for sites like Netflix, Amazon prime video, One drive etc.

    Joister Broadband

I have experienced that earlier too with Hathway. They also advertise 50Mbps plans, but in reality they do not have enough International bandwidth provisioned for that much speed. Hence you get a lot less than what is possible as per your plan. There is generally no issue with the speed if the...

    Joister Broadband

@nRiTeCh, I have opened a case with Joister. However, I am not getting a positive response so far. They are claiming that the speed issue may be with International Gateway. I am not buying that argument, I think that they are having too many customers in Pune now. So their available bandwidth is...

Xiaomi Mi 4i + Vodafone 4G in Maharashtra

@6pack, if you want some thing smaller, you can choose Redmi Note 3. Except camera (and may be speaker), it is better than Redmi Note 4 in almost all the departments. It has support for all the required bands. Moto G4/G5 also have support for them. Lenovo P2 is also another choice.

Xiaomi Mi 4i + Vodafone 4G in Maharashtra

As mentioned earlier by me Redmi 4A only supports 3/5/40. In Pune (and I guess it is same for whole Maharashtra except Mumbai) Vodafone is on 2100 MHz i.e. Band 1. So no support here. In Mumbai, I guess they are on 1800 MHz (Band 3) as per following articles...

Xiaomi Mi 4i + Vodafone 4G in Maharashtra

Mobile SOCs have multiple band support by default. So there is no much of cost saving involved except for the ones which are unusual in our region. Yes, they could be planning for customers to upgrade in timely manner.
