Mumbai Mirror quoted a ONE DAY OFFER today for the HCL LEAPTOP L1908 for Rs24,990. Are these offers worth the money coz its a Celeron 1.86Ghz,Wifienables,with no DVD writer :( ? Or is it true that in Vashi and Thane u get the same lappys for 4 or 5k less coz of no/negligible octroi?

Dude, since you just need to boot the OS to back up data, Have u tried a LIVE Linux CD? You could probably DL the PUPPY LINUX Live CD,or load onto a USB flash drive.Its hardly 80MB size and then Proceed to Backup the data to DVD Trust me I have already done this last month when I Reformatted...
