    You can choose one.SMPlayer is better IMO. You need to set up and refresh software repositories [place from where mandriva downloads softwares].No point installing any software or setting repos on LiveCD since your changes won't be saved for next time.Better install mandriva to hard drive...

    Aww crap...I have just added a new AGP card [7600GS] to my system.I have a 400W SMPS providing 27A on the +12V railing.My other hardware is 160 GB + 40 GB HDDs, 1 GB DDR RAM, Celeron 2.4Ghz CPU.I guess 400W should be enough for this. BTW, Please tell me how did you remove this fan.The bugger...

    Well, an average home user needs usability over anything else.And that's what MS provides with their OS.Linux is a bit rough to be accepted by technophobics [read majority of population].For governments, data security, stability is more important than all else and that's where Linux comes in.

    Governments using Open source does make a lot of sense.That way they won't be tied to MS for support and updates and can have their own in-house experts to take care of computers. I guess it's the initial "conversion period" that most governments or even companies for that matter are concerned...
