Also, if my gpu cant handle 4k gaming, can i use the 4k monitor at 1440p without any issue?

Yes.
4k will look much sharper but having said that I watch lot of 4k videos on my 2k monitor and it is still very impressive.

Yes you can change the resolution. My monitor is 2k but i play many games on full HD .


My advice is this....if you getting really good deal on 2k but have specs that does not match 4k ...stick to 2k for now and later sell it when you have good 4k specs.

Monitors with good HDR support and OLED will see price becoming more affordable sooner or later.

2k and 4k are noticeable more porbably when you have used 4k also in scaling mode. 4k monitors at around 22k comes with 60hz only. For gaming you will need more more refresh rate.

At 27 inches it should be fine and not really noticeable in daily use. Yes you can use the 1440p resolution on a 4k monitor but since its like cropping into an image it will be a bit blurry to use.
 
Currently flipkart ha it listed at 21499/- . You can expect it to be much cheaper in the upcoming sale.

Is running 1440p on 1440p monitor , different than running 1440p in 4k monitor?
Because i remember someone saying something on the lines that running 1440p on 4k monitor looks worse than that on 1440p monitor.

The argument would be around scaling and your monitor resolution being a multiple of target resolution. 4k, downscaled to fhd for gaming is not that bad (a bit smooth and lacking sharpness ofc), but in qhd there would be more blurred regions apart from not being sharp I guess. What's more important is refresh rate for fast-paced gaming. So if you can fork out more than 40k then 4k is an option for gaming. Else if productivity is the main target, any 60/75hz IPS panels are good (inbuilt KVM and pip/pbp are nice to have in certain models). This one came up recently- https://amzn.in/d/032bU3Vl
Similar to viewsonic one. But if you're looking for gaming first and budget is around 20k then get the qhd models (again viewsonic and Acer have few high refresh models).
 
On 27 inch 2k monitor the windows recommended scaling is 125% - which gives you effective resolution of 2048x1152 in terms of windows UI elements.

On 27 inch 4k monitor the windows recommended scaling is 150% - which gives you effective resolution of 2560x1440 in terms of windows UI elements.

Of course you can use lower scaling or no scaling if you can read small text.

If you want competitive edge in esport title like CS2, the right monitor in your budget is 1080p 240hz.
 
How good/bad is a 32inch 1440p screen vs 27 inch.
Is the decrease in ppi noticeable?
Asking beacuse i saw an lg 32inch monitor at 20.5k on amazon which is similar to 27inch lg monitors.
The only other difference is va panel on 32inch compared to ips on 27 inch.

It is definitely noticeable. 32" 1440p has the same PPI as 24" 1080p. If you're coming from the latter, it would not feel like much of an upgrade in visual detail, more just an upgrade in screen size. I wouldn't say it would look bad though.

That and VA panels are generally bad for gaming.
