I was trying to forward a OTP to my father to use my a/c at a local supermarket. I typed the 6 digits and hit send, but the message wouldn't go through. I was travelling then, so blamed it on network signal strength.
Once I returned home, I tested again by sending random nos as the only content in an SMS.
Seems Airtel is blocking texts that only contain 4 to 6 digit numbers.
For e.g. 253579 wouldn't go through, but A256579 would.
Was wondering if this was an Airtel only thing, or other networks do this as well. Or was this mandated by TRAI?
Do check on other networks and post the result.
