I don't know the motivation behind this, but I just think they need to have heavy cancellation charges. So many people book in advance with very low probability of actually using it, because they know they can cancel at the last minute. This causes all this RAC and WL circus which is ridiculous at times.
 
This is the right move. It is fairly hard to plan travels 4 months in advance. It was 2 months long time back and then it was switched to 4 months. Now that we are back to square one. Good move !
 
Its a good motive in fact I would say make it 30 days as most of the passengers reserve in adv. needlessly only to cancel at the last moment or during the last days.
 
I do think this is a good move but for someone who travels long travels for a big distance major holidays bookings can become a hassle.
