I am hesitating to go ahead and install the 24H2 update on my system - considering all the worrisome issues that are still cropping up each day on various tech sites.

I have not yet recd the official notification of 24H2 [I have Win11 Prof, licensed on i5-13600K] which puzzles me as to WHY? :nailbiting:

Notes:
1. Not faced any instability issues at all on my Raptor Lake proc.
2. BIOS is F10 [Gigabyte Z790 UD AX with Wi-Fi 6E] - All Default Settings
3. Latest BIOS F12 [Sept 27, 2024] not yet installed
4. Are there any other compatibility issues on my system?
5. Is 24H2 still being released in a phased manner?
6. My system is ON/Sleep Mode for the past 45 days [not shutdown as I have a problem with my cabinet On/Off button]
lastly
7. If and when I receive 24H2 update should I go ahead or wait till December!

Well i would recommend do a fresh install of 24H2, as if you update it will bloat the windows space and slow it down. I am using 24H2 and its working fine, i am using the moded version details for which were shared on another thread on TE itself.

24H2 update is being released in a phased manner.
Still you can enable Get the latest updates as soon as they are available in settings / Windows update.
You may receive the update on priority.

If your device is in safeguard hold, you may not receive the update till the issues are sorted out.

Check here how to check that

Windows 11, version 24H2 known issues

To check for any compatibility issues run PC Health Check app (Type in search bar PC Health Check)
On Top it shows Introducing windows 11. Lets check if this PC meets system requirements.
Click Check Now. It will show any compatibility issue for upgrade.

A reported issue with 24H2 is blue screens with certain WD SSDs (like SN770, SN580). Not sure if SN850X is affected.

There is a registry fix, but I would wait for an update before upgrading if you have the affected models.

What do you stand to gain from the update ? Is there a new feature that is coming in 24H2 that will improve your workflow drastically? Acc to rumours M$ has reduced its testing staff and just treating their user base as unpaid testing interns. If no, dont fret over it, let it come, you can install it when it comes, until then let other guinea pigs do the testing.
