Was your motherboard just killing the drive? Finally after a lot of checking it was my motherboard
It keeps on crashing the system. Was your motherboard just killing the drive?
The system keep crashing. upon checking the logs it always showed error with 980 pro Nvme failure, kind of started with that error then booting, Ram issue and bios failure it was a slow death for the motherboard.@panther could you post what was the issue and how you identified it?
Seems a fluffy cat farted on it with invisible shit spattering..Was it resold, cleaned, repaired or sat upon by a fluffy cat?
I will go with fluffy catThat's really strange, X570 is not old enough to start dying from age, especially not Gigabyte's AORUS line.
Did anything happen out of the ordinary with the motherboard?
Was it resold, cleaned, repaired or sat upon by a fluffy cat?
No joking around but it seems like a panauti unfortunately! Not on samsung (m.2 gen4 drive in use for 3 years) but my WD sata ssd failed all of a sudden.
WD Blue 1tb sATA ssd
Had Nearly 600gb of important data, important enough that I never backed it up
The drive load suddenly went 100%, then I restarted my pc thought it would fix it up, the restat took about 20minutes, pc running terribly slow, and finally when it booted, the drive partitions were unreadable, and the drive load still 100.
I did try taking it out and connecting to an external enclosure, but it gave same results.
Sent it for data recovery, all gave a response saying the drive controller is dead.
However it was under warranty, my rma was approved.
But one fine morning, through the external usb sata enclosure, I connected it to my phone, and boom everything showed up fine! The 2 partitions, with all the data.
I immediately backed it all up via micro SD card and copying out data every 100gb
Then realized that only windows is unable ti read the drive, I did try other desktops and laptops too, had the same issue on all.
Then I tried formatting it, on android the ntfs system was mounted as read only, hence could not format it on phone. Installed Ubuntu on pc, there as soon as I connected it, it showed that the drive has issues and might fail anytime. Still I tried formatting it, deleting partitions, deleting data, but again, it was stuck at read only and nothing worked.
At last, I handed it over to the service center as it is, hoping that they don't try to read up my data.
But again there was a catch, the service center representative said that the sata pins are roughened up and and hence they will have to cross confirm from the brand if they are still willing to offer me rma.
Been a week, no response yet. Looks like the drive is not gonna let me live easy.
To be honest, I too feel the same.No joking around but it seems like a panauti unfortunately!
First it was samsung..blame gigabyte and now wd.
Your horo planetary system is not in techno favor at this time..take a pundits suggestion and do some shanti, chardham yatra etc and restart everything!
Hello everyone,
I hope you're all doing well. I wanted to share my experience with the Samsung 980 Pro 1TB SSD and seek some input from the community regarding a recent issue I've encountered.
I purchased the Samsung 980 Pro 1TB SSD about three months ago, and it was performing brilliantly.had the latest firmware installed, and it was working seamlessly. However, just a few days ago, my SSD suddenly failed.
I've tried various troubleshooting steps, including checking the connections, ,and even using different Slot, but nothing seems to work. It's incredibly frustrating, especially considering that it's a high-end SSD and has not been subjected to any physical damage or extreme conditions.
I've already reached out to Samsung's customer support, and they are in the process of assisting me with the issue. However, I wanted to ask if anyone else in this community has faced a similar problem with their Samsung 980 Pro SSD, especially with the latest firmware version installed. I'm curious if this is a widespread issue or just an isolated case.
If you've encountered a similar problem with your Samsung 980 Pro SSD, please share your experience and let me know if you were able to resolve it or if Samsung provided you with a replacement or refund. I'm eager to know how Samsung has been handling such issues and what kind of support and replacement options they offer. Your insights and experiences would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you in advance for your input, and I hope we can gather some valuable information and solutions to help those who might be dealing with this unfortunate situation.
Did you overclock the system?Update:
Received a new Samsung 980 Pro 1TB, and guess what? It also failed. I hope they will give me a refund this time.
