The "Everyday" show-off thread !

UPI works, I can confirm on iPhone 6S, and somehow ICICI bank app also started working again, I wonder what made ICICI to support iOS 15 again. Kind of a miracle 10 year old phone still perfectly usable.
I am on iOS15 and HDFC app, Payzapp and AmazonPay are not allowing upi registration unless device updated to 17

I feel iphone 6S, 7, 8, X are still perfectly usable phones but you can't use UPI apps as NPCI has restricted upi registration to iOS 17 and newer.
it is perfectly usable, besides UPI app, banking apps and office managed apps like (outlook, teams, internal apps) are all require the latest iOS; so your forced to upgrade. having that said, moving to a new iPhone coming from and old one really shows what I have been missing out on, especially in small things like copying things from a picture, camera quality, audio quality etc...
Get iOS 18.2 beta, change region to US English, enable apple intelligence and chatGPT. Start using Siri (double tap on bottom of screen to activate text mode and you wont open browser to search general stuff).
I dont like to run beta os on my phone, i rather wait and AI being AI its not something that im too into it right now.

ICICI bank started working recently on my iPhone too (i'd like to believe it was because of me cause I sent a long email to the higher auths at ICICI). However, inside the ICICI bank app if you try to launch UPI it will not work.
how much of a difference you have noticed i have SE switched to android and again planning to buy iphone is it worth to upgrade or should i save money and keep using SE?
there is a huge difference in just using the phone normally, coming from iPhone X without having higher refresh rate display to a display that is much better in every way shows and you can feel it. Besides that the camera is something you already know about since everyone talks about it. But in general using apps atleast feel much better to me, gaming is something i do normally on my phone and the phone doesn't shutter or heat up.

I was someone who did that in between, went from iphone to Android for a year, came back to iPhone from the experience I had at the service center in general... it was a Samsung...
My family has had the opposite experience...moved them from iphones to samsung s20fe 5g, s23u, galaxy flip....all 3 of them are super happy for past 4 years...never needed to visit the service center...just went for changing the battery on s20fe...was surprised at how cheap and smooth it was around 2-3k

Myself am using an s23u for past few years..love my decision everyday...though I have never been and never will be an iphone user ever my family members were

yeah i guess it all comes down to experience. I myself would like to give Android another shot down the line. But for my parents I have moved them all into iPhone. with all the scams happening I just feel Android is really unsafe for elderly people. When my dad was using a Samsung i was sick of all the ads that used to pop up everywherre and all the unsafe applications that would get automatically installed... just click a link and something would get installed.... on IOS that isn't the case so far since all apps that needs to be installed has to come through AppStore which is vetted by Apple. (not sure what will happen if they enable 3rd party app store)

I see. I use WhatsApp Payments UPI, and it works, but I haven't tried registering a new UPI. Yes, some apps definitely require a newer iOS, like ChatGPT.

On premium phones and s20fe there are no ads at all on samsung that I have seen...You shouldn't turn on 3rd party app installation for parents...that takes care of any apps not on the play store

FANS!
