0-20k Budget 8 core CPU for 3060 ti?

I recently have sold my Xbox Series X and I'm looking to build my first budget PC I need a CPU which has 8 core or similar just similar to my Xbox series X for my already purchased Zotac GeForce 3060 ti 8GB GPU (in second hand market). Budget is 10-12k for the CPU.

Usage - Mostly gaming, and browsing/ watching movies.
I'm going to play Competitive shooters and fewer AAA games (less demanding) and would want 60fps minimum and my display is 4k 55"OLED TV if that info helps in anyway?!

Few questions as well-
1)Could you might as well suggest a Motherboard with Wifi and BT and budget also is 10-12k ?
2)RAM am planning it to be 16gb but do I need DDR5 so I don't have to upgrade later? Or DDR4 (8gb *2) should do?
 
Your best bet would be a Ryzen 7 5700 (selling for 13k). If you can extend your budget a bit, the 5700x would be miles better. 5700x's dont come with a cooler, so you might have to fork over a bit more to get the complete package. For either CPU, DDR4 is the only usable RAM standard.

Dude you just have RTX 3060ti and planing to buy cpu+mobo combo and ram? Do u have cabinet, PSU, SSD?
Get this for gaming, but you can save a lot if u go with 12400f CPU. Get a cheaper cabinet if u don't want to spend much on it. Also can add another 16gb stick later, right for 1080p gaming is enough. Also get a cooler master CPU air cooler.

This was my original build for somewhat AM4 (old 3060ti card from my cousin) instead of AM5 what you've sent..

Ignore the 6600 AMD GPU though. But I guess its subject to changes as am also looking for AM5 build as well with 7700 XT

so you would be playing games at 4k or 2k then as your display being 4k 55 inch TV. just check for games what fps it puts out for games u will be playing at 2k and 4k. it's quite easy to youtube this and u will have most of your answers

Ya basically started off with a 1080p build with 3060ti and since people have kept saying that 1080p upscaled on 4k TV would look very fuzzy/blurry mostly because its VRAM is only 8GB. I didnt wanted to take chances and started working on 1440p 60fps build. But yes the budget have been increased as well due to this. I already have a OG PS5 so AAA games won't matter much but I need a consistent 60fps. But If i see a good sale of a heavy demanding AAA game like Alan Wake 2 on steam instead of PS store, I might purchase it to play on this PC.

Do you think 6700XT would do or 7600 XT 12gb would be good enough for 1440p 60 fps ? (when budget is a constraint as im unable to find any 6600XT in second hand market with some warranty)

You wanna pair stuff with a 3060ti, it's a decent entry level card, so should not be much of a deal.
I've used my 3060ti with the Ryzen 5 5600, later switched to Ryzen 9 5900x (as I got it dirt cheap, 12k used with 2 year warranty)

Get yourself the 5600x as you can get a used unit fir like 10k, and a suitable board like b450/x470

No need of rushing towards ddr5 as it's new in the market, and not too great to be used by budget level builders.

Looking for wifi boards, you can get a b450m wifi board for like 7k and full atx ones for 9k.
Better if switch for a b550, but again a price hike of 2-3k.

Or if you are fixed for an 8 core cpu, get a ryzen 7, which would cost like 12-15k

I would suggest 12400f and DDR5 Mobo combo instead of AM4. The DDR5 does make a difference in gaming. I too have 3060ti paired with 12400f, b760 bomber, DDR5 6000MT/s. There is not a game which beats this rig at 1080p or even at 1440p except when u turn on path tracing, which is very heavy on GPU.

The intel 12th gen wont have upgrade path right. I can upgrade only CPU to 9800x3D in future 5-6 years OR upgrade to Ryzen 10/11th gen with the same motherboard and still use the existing DDR5 ram (6000 Mhz ) if needed and that will be enough isnt it?!

Well it was in reply to the previous post. If u check my last post I have suggested 7600, so that u have upgradability. But I always buy budget cpu+mobo combo and change both after 4 years, that way getting latest tech of CPU and mobo and ram :p, rather than upgrading only CPU, as far as gaming is concerned.

Makes sense for a veteran builder but going with budget cpu and mobo now and then struggling for resale value is a bit of hassle for me I feel, although this is my first PC build, I'd like to make it a good investment rather than changing things every 4 years. My next upgrade can even be after 6 years who knows.
The 12400F is 9k in value iirc and Ryzen 5 7600 is 18k.
Could you give me the link of DDR5 Mobo (which has a Wifi BT as well) from what you are suggesting ?

look when you have say competitive shooters assuming cs go / valorant than you require more frames . So on your 4k first how many frames does your tv support . than check how much frames 3060ti is able to generate on the games that you play .At 4k on shooters cpu is like an umbrella in torrential rain. it will be GPU bound .even firzst gen ryzen with 8 cores will pull it off
