iOS Can feel static while my iPad is charging?

Hey people, I have noticed it a couple of times now that if touch the sides of my iPad while the charger is plugged in; I can feel a static sometimes. Is it normal to happen? I use an extension board to plug the power adapter and it's the original one which I got from Apple.

Side note: the extension board I use has a two pin switch.

Should I be worried about it, or just let it slip?

Dont let it slip...can cost you your beloved ipad...see if you get static when charger is directly connected to wall outlet....if still you get static then time to change the charger...if not then change the extension board

@leohere , by static do you imply that you can feel slight / weak current while touching iPad, that's connected to the charger? If yes, your charger may be leaking AC. Also do check if your charger has 2 Pins or 3. If there are two pins, like most chargers, the charger may be bad and needs replacement with a good one. If there are 3 pins, your earthing circuit may be improper, due to extension board or due to improper home wiring.

Excess static is usually due to poor earthing of the mainline in the home.

Getting that fixed can help resolve the issue.
Correct me if I'm wrong, just curious here, the iPad charger have 2 pins only, even if the earthing is excellent, the problem here should not be affected by it.

PS: I too feel slight tingle when I'm barefoot and touch the metal part of iPad Air M1 when it is charging.

That's correct, if your electrical connection is properly grounded and the issue is local to the charger or extension, then a 3-pin connector will resolve the issue. If the electrical connection itself is not properly grounded, then the only solution is to get it done by an electrician.

But still if you see closely on the other end, only 2 pins connect to the actual charger.

There are metal contacts inside which connect to the ground, Apple used to include this extension cable with macbooks purchased earlier (maybe stopped it after switching to usb-c)
I still have one of these which I got in the box for a macbook purchased in 2009
