Canada's online news act misinterpreted as blocking Australian news page

Wut? Some Canadians are racist but how's that related to a racist president in another country? Do you even know what Trump's party is proposing? Hint: It's called denaturalization.

And if you think Canadians are being racist, you should look at how MAGA racists are behaving these last few days. They are only going to get bolder after Trump takes office.
MAGA isnt as racist. US in general is less racist compared to other western countries.

People don't understand, USA is into long-term interests whether it's left or right.
Mexico and regions around is going to be China+1, India is not China+1.
Such an idea will benefit USA in lot of ways than not.

MAGA isnt as racist.

Let's see if you still think that by 2028.

45% of the Hispanic vote.
13% (up from 8%) of the black vote
This time

Last time it was one in every three Asians (browns & yellow) going up to one in two for Viets.

I could have told you back in his last term this trope was a lie. So if you were watching who voted for him then you are ignorant.

You see if Trump is labelled a racist then it follows so are his supporters. Right?

The Democrats can't accept their candidate was a lemon or their policies spoke to an elite and ignored day to day issues like cost of living. Yes, it was a big issue unlike in the past.

So they blame the electorate. This is the sort of arrogance that was rejected by the electorate.

Also, Key faces of Trump's campaign are Indians.

Very right, moreover, they exploited identity based political hate between humans to divide and win over people. Trump rather went into mcdonalds, waste handlers, etc. or tried to unite interested people. Don't know whether his win will be ultimately good for him or usa, but for now we was good at winning over his his vote bank.
For long run, he won't have anybody loyal towards him, he will be sitting on a seat of thorns.

It doesn't matter how many times he addresses this question they just won't stop accusing him of it

Andrew Jackson and Abraham Lincoln were two presidents that got attacked and only fifty years later were recognised as great.

Trump has been attacked more than both of them. He'll go down as a great president who survived despite the odds.

Just see what he has been through. To come back from a previous loss is rare. This was no close contest but a decisive win. To do so after narrowly escaping assassination is unique. All the while with over 100 indictments.

Canada is getting extremely hostile. Go to Reddit and you'll see such blatant racism against India. Indians are also facing repeated attacks and discrimination. IMO we should downgrade our relations with them after Trump takes office.
not gonna blame them, its just the consequence of unchecked immigration, aside from Khalistani vandalism, Indians/other immigrants who made it rich are pricing out local people from homes, and the poorer ones are ready to work for below minimum wage with no benefits that the locals are finding it harder to sustain themselves in jobs

bro, you do know that the Mcdonalds he went into was closed right? also Trump won because MAGAs are ****ing retards who would rather get ****ed than lose an opportunity to own the libs. I'm just ready with popcorn to see and how these ****ing moronic republicans are gonna survive now, like 90% of the people on government benefits are these morons and all of them voted in a moron who's gonna take away those benefits

pretty sure he's gonna go down as the only president who's a convicted felon/rapist/pedophile ; )

Same doubt here, am agnostic towards politics, in my books democrats ruling 8yrs means Trump is setup for a volatile journey.
There needed a break from democrat politics, but the road chosen gives not so good vibes.
Volatile times ahead it seems, let us hope for good.

Lets try to avoid sarcasm and mockery while having discussions with our peers here on TE at least. Sarcasm can often be misinterpreted and escalate tensions. We should express our points directly and respectfully, focusing on facts or reasoned arguments rather than sarcastic or mocking language.

Instead of saying, “your boi sure ain’t racist,” we can say, “Some of Trump’s actions or words reeks of racism. What are your thoughts on that?”

Also lets appreciate that people may hold differing views, debates are opportunities to understand others’ perspectives rather than immediately discredit them.

@altair21 - Sorry I picked your post to make this point, what I am saying is in general applicable to all discussions and members. If anyone notices that language is bordering on personal attacks, then please report the post, we will edit it.

Here's the other trope. If they're not racist then his supporters must be dumb. Because he's dumb.

Same arrogant attitude that attacks the voter and avoids looking within.

There will plenty of time for that. It's expected the Republicans will go on to win two more terms so a total of three Republican terms back to back.

Whose bogus charges a majority of the American public rejected. They can't indict a sitting president either.

A 900pg document the Dems did a hit job on and picked up the most controversial aspects and gave it a negative spin.

There are other ideas in there too. He wasn't consulted on it. This was put together by the heritage foundation. One of three right of center think tanks. I'm familiar with analysts from heritage. They've had great discussions there over the years.

What happens is these think tanks put together a document for action that the incoming administration may consider. That's all it is. Dems want to make it look like he was the principal architect :joyful:

The remaining two conservative think tanks are hudson institute and hoover. The three H's. Heritage, Hoover & Hudson. Remember them and consult their publications to better understand Trump's policy. There is one more called AFPI

For instance the last time the Hudson institute put a proposal together and it was accepted by Trump's administration, the leading author Lisa Curtis joined the Trump administration. Great asset for the think tank to have someone on the inside and in a position to influence policy. Among the other authors was Chris Fair, a noted Pak hawk and much liked in India. If you wondered why Trump was frosty with the Paks then this was the reason. Among other recommendations. Hudson was quite india friendly under Modi and of interest locally.

As for what Trump will do. Simple. Roll back Obama's radical plan to completely transform America. A progressive plan that was continued with Biden-Harrris under cover of a centrist Biden. Pretty sneaky. As a result the US has become unrecognisable compared to when I lived there.

Trump will return things as best to how they were prior to Obama and the subsequent Republican terms after will guarantee it. This will also hopefully signal the end of Obama's influence on the Democrat party. He's effectively had a third term and was counting on a fourth with Harris as the second puppet. How fortunate this was stopped and decisively rejected.

Blue cities.jpg

Quite a crushing defeat. The map gives a quick take of how badly the Democrats were routed. There are no blue states left. Just blue cities. The people were not interested in this ideology but the basics. Of course they are idiots for worrying more about living costs instead of identity politics.

Don't be lazy and fall for false narratives by the opposition as posted here. Track those think tanks mentioned above and their analysts and you will better understand what the Trump administration wants and is doing and not what the opposition thinks. Nobody cares for what opposition thinks because they are unaccountable and can say whatever they want. That's their job.

Trump was accepted because he gave people hope and was clear what he would do if elected. All the dems were good for is spreading fear and hate. Nobody had a clue what their candidate stood for given the word salads she'd spout whenever asked.

See 45% of Latino vote he got. So that charge is meaningless and past the sell by date.

Slightly unrelated - but it's possible to think of receding freedom of speech as a game theoretical problem. If a state gives Un-curtailed freedom of speech to its citizen, its strategic opponents can exploit it as weakness to use social media as a tool for its own propaganda. Since no state can really trust its adversaries on this - no state can really offer its citizen true freedom of speech - but all of them try to pretend that they do. On top of that , social media allows all states to further their own propaganda in their own jurisdiction - hence the propensity to clamp down on expression that counters their propaganda.

Freedom of speech should be paramount. Otherwise, state can just call anything they dont like wrong and jail everyone. Look at whats going on now. People in India being jailed for memes. Same is with UK.

I agree in general with what you are saying and I'm all for that as long as peeps debate in good faith, but if other people dont mind slinging shit, I dont mind slinging it back even harder (look at the starlink post, or his response to that elon musk thread), there's no reasoning with people who will twist anything to fit their logic and would rather defend monsters like Trump and cant offer any logical comback

Also lets appreciate that people may hold differing views, debates are opportunities to understand others’ perspectives rather than immediately discredit them.
Aligned with you here, but in this case, how exactly can the views differ for a rapist, pedophile, convicted felon without looking like a moron in turn?

no issues here

bogus charges? all of the charges on which he was convicted on btw? and yeah its a pity they cant indict a sitting president,

please sell me "Project 2025" and whatever Trump said he'll do in a positive light, I am a moron who fell for democrat lies, please enlighten me

yeah? what about stuff that came straight from his mouth? will you classify that also as think tank plans or his own?

how? by shuttiing down the medicaid? by shutting down the department of education? to make dumb ****s even dumber so they wont realise that they are being taken for a ride?

And this is the most ironic part, a vast majority of MAGA idiots survive on medicaid, foodstamp, pension, all of which Trump is gonna take away (according to his own words mind you, this is not me speculating), but if they get screwed, its that ****ing Obama/Biden

yeah, and people are gonna be feeling this for decades, extreme left people are disillusioned with DNC, because they never said a word about fixing the core issues like corporate taxation, policies actually benefitting the common people and instead all they shouted was identity politics, and Kamala herself when asked pointed questions about this, avoided them, also it didnt help that a very large majority of Democrats didnt turn up to vote (around 15 million like I said)

I'll do all of this as long as you explain to me what good will be there by removing medicaid, removing the department of education, deporting all migrant green card holders, I'll do it as long as you can explain how it'll be beneficial what Trump will do
Trump was accepted because he gave people hope and was clear what he would do if elected. All the dems were good for is spreading fear and hate. Nobody had a clue what their candidate stood for given the word salads she'd spout whenever asked.
can you explain to me how exactly he gave them hope? in words that actually make sense and is not just, "we gonna own them libs"?
See 45% of Latino vote he got. So that charge is meaningless and past the sell by date.
yeah, and they all will be crying when he dumps them and their families back to the shithole they crawled out from

I think mod is intending that, whatever you want to convey you can do it in decent language. Criticism is fine and welcomed, but we can use mature language, avoid personal attacks, etc. Personally I see mods in tight position while allowing highly polarized topics and charged discussions (that too nothing to do with technology), when these entire threads are available open on internet. Should keep in mind that TE is not an anonymous forum.

One should always understand that politics is not for average straight forward decent people, it is a personality obsessed, exploitive, competitive, narcissist's game. So, you should understand what comes at the top.
One have to admit the fact that people of one of the most powerful countries in the world, who are supposed to be more better than others in selecting their leaders, elected Trump. Now, that is a fact and there is no two way about it whether the world like it or not.
Would've been better if these kind of discussions happen in private lounge section of this forum.

About the court cases, those totally looks like using court for political gambling. Their top security agency open failed to keep the standards when president's son got caught being loopy and later even agreed failing on that. Apart from very bad shape economy, just one of another reason for dems to lose election is their callous double standards and exposing how much deep they are into deep state.

You're wasting your time here. These people can't be reasoned with. Just add them to your blocklist and move on.

Always remember Brandolini's law AKA bullshit asymmetry principle: The amount of energy needed to refute bullshit is an order of magnitude bigger than that needed to produce it.

Also, I had reported this thread to close earlier when OP's post was debunked. I knew it was going to get derailed into political shitflinging.

There is a forum category reorganization that is being worked upon. All these religious/political debates will go into a non-public section. Even then treating each other with respect is paramount.
