PC Peripherals Seeking suggestions for a Multi-function Printer which has auto double-sided Print as well as auto double-side scan capabilities.

LinkdJay

Level D
More details for my usage -
  • Black and white print only
  • Laser printer preferred
  • Typical printer usage is perhaps 200-300 pages a week (these are mostly duplex prints) . Occasionally these numbers may rise higher.
  • The auto double-sided document scanning feature would actually be way more useful for my usage.
I have seen many laser printers with ADF that allow auto duplex printing, but they only have single-side scan capability, so I would like to avoid them.
I am aware of interesting business practices by HP when it comes to their printers, so HP printers are rather quite the ladders in terms of brand preference but not completely out of the picture.
I am not very familiar with other brands who are engaged in these practices as aggressively as HP, but please correct me if I am wrong.

Kyocera 2040DN is what most xerox shops use. Find someone nearby who can also help with spares support. Friend is at 1.8L copies and like 10k worth maintenance (toner separate).
Its 43.5k on Moglix. Will cost a bit more, but absolutely get it from someone who can provide you support.

Another option is to get Brother HL-2321D.
Get a new toner box from amazon, its easily refillable. Get toner powder online or offline around 120 per box. Lasts 2k pages.
And get a separate scanner for it. For using together you will need PC

The brother printer does not have any scanner.
I shall keep Kyocera in mind, but finding good support at my location would most likely be trouble, since I am not located at any Tier 1 city.

Brother is a rock steady laser printer. If you add a scanner that full fills your need you'll have a good setup.

That Kyocera model is becoming the default xerox machine is even villages. And at your volume will only need preventive maintenance. Toner lasts 6-10k copies.
If you get that you're good for next 5-10yrs. Scanner is duplex scanner. Has an app. And also suppoers LAN (no wifi)

Thanks for the suggestion!
Since you are familiar with this, could you confirm whether it supports auto double-sided page scanning or not? I went through the specifications on Epson's webpage, but I can't figure out whether it does or not.
hey jay, it doesn'thave 2 sided scanning on ADF everything else ticks for you. there is HP printer that do this.
