Feedback ON BSNL

Thinking to switch BSNL from JIO due to obvious reason price. :) Looking forward to get feedbacks from users who are currently using BSNL special people are from Kolkata and nearby areas. My current requirement includes call, WhatsApp and YouTube streaming while I'm travelling to the office. :):)

Lol same area here. So will be watching this. I used them about couple of years ago. It was sh!t. I hope things have changed lately, but not counting on it

I am using bsnl from years in Bhubaneswar, Odisha. Still Bsnl 4g has not been launched here. I am using it as secondary sim. Max it can goes upto 3g but the speed of internet is like 2g.

Shifted from Airtel to BSNL to use as my secondary sim. Made the mistake of not checking the network in my area. Downright terrible for me. No signal inside the house and even if you move outside, speed is in Kbps usually. Have to wait 3 months before i can port again. This is in Bangalore BTW.

For Bengaluru its quite shocking

They are upgrading their towers, for Bangalore its not done yet so most running on 3g Only, so it may take another 6 odd months for everything to complete. Even for me i get signal only on first floor but nothing on ground floor in HSR Layout Bangalore. Also in roaming i have travelled to Mysore few times. the signal comes and goes as upgrade is still in process.

Here in uttrakhand i was getting around 9mbps down speed on 4g, which is significantly lower than jio 5g(100-200mbps).
However if u already have a fiber connection at home, bsnl will do just fine .
Make sure to check your area coverage tho, also not recommended for people who travel often.

Hyderabad, Bangalore, Indore. The speeds are garbage. It is like 2G. There is barely any connectivity at all. Just took a sim to keep a number active. It barely works, even for calls, the clarity is fathoms below the usual providers.

Add Bhubaneswar to the list as well :)

I am from Hyd, so not nearby Kolkata.
I have a bsnl number. I get not only 3g, 2g, but sometimes it even shows the good old "E" (edge) and G symbols on network. For nostalgia it's fine I guess. But for usage, terrible.
Sometimes the network goes away and comes back after few minutes or an hour, or I have to go outside.
Meanwhile call quality is awful in today's standards.
I don't know for what reason bsnl exists today with such performance in 2024. Sarkari naukri ftw.
They have a lot to do.
