ROG Ally Z1 for US $350 a good deal?

Ho folks. A friend of mine can get me a handheld console from the US. I have the option of getting 256 GB steam deck LCD for $399 or ROG Ally base model with 512 GB SSD for $349. I think ROG Ally doesn't have SD card slot, so fixed at 512 GB.

Performance-wise, which one is a better deal?

Is it the final price? because with USA prices lot of people only see online price but once you go to final checkout page add another 8-10% as tax atleast.

Are you purchasing new steam deck or old?

Rog Ally has a microSD card slot, but its poor placement causes it to run hot. As the previous comment suggests, adding 8-10% VAT will somewhat align the Indian pricing in the sales (including card discounts).
However, if you’re willing to get it, considering Asus International warranty support, you can get it now.

I would like to suggest you something...Do Consider Nintendo Switch as choice for Handheld too . Its really superb in terms of the games line up it has.

I cant keep my Switch down. I keep getting the urge to pick it up and play those cute games but been busy lately but if I have to play anything it will be switch games.
They are much more calming and relaxing games comparatively but incase you do not like those games then it is no use to consider it.

Final price is $370, you were right, 6.5% sales tax got added.

The games are far too expensive. I have a lot of indie games in my steam library which I'd like to play on a handheld.

Oh, lol.. I quoted the wrong post

I am Jack Sparrow. But isn't that just easier on Windows? I can even emulate Switch games on the Ally
The catch is battery life. You will not be able to get more than a couple of hours on any taxing emulator. If it comes to using it tethered, would prefer a laptop anytime for its additional value.

Not very concerned about battery life as I don't plan to use it for long gaming sessions. 2-3 hours would be fine.
I would suggest to wait for 2nd gen of handhelds if you can, just a thought
Will consider. Might not get the same opportunity to procure from the US again.

If price is coming to same or probably less to buy second hand( good condition) in India . Why take the trouble to get it from there.

Instead get something else from there.
Maybe a drone for an idea.
