Hi Guys

ASUS TUF 2022 3050

ASUS TUF Gaming F17 (2022), 17.3"(43.94 cms) FHD 144Hz, Intel Core i5-12500H 12th Gen, RTX 3050 4GB GPU, Gaming Laptop (16GB/512GB SSD/90WHr Battery/Windows 11/Gray/2.6 Kg), FX707ZC4-HX067W

I was looking at this laptop .
Few questions considering I am a desktop guy ( no personal laptop , although have 2 work laptops , one windows and one mac )
This will be replacement of Desktop , this will be for basic usage , also foolproof for future , I don't want to buy often . Hope to keep it for 5 + years .

1. Is it ok to look for 2022 model .
2. Any one used 17 inch laptop ? , it is better to use 15 inch ?, this will be 99 % sitting on desk , may be once it a while portable.
2. 3050 Graphics card is good or even 2050 should be ok ( there is 2050 also )?
3. How is battery life , even I put it for power save mode or lowest power consumption mode, In case I need to use this on battery .
4. Lowest price on amazon was 65K now its back to74k . Can I get it around 60 K or lower anywhere/offline ? , Price is not a issue ,but want a good reliable one . Just checking best price.
5. How is reliability of Asus ?
6. Any alternative to this ?

Thanks

Don't go for the (2022) variant, motherboard failure rates are high and the discrete card performance is mediocre.
I have the f15 one (2022), which even tho does its jobs freezes quite alot. Battery is good but the performance is mediocre. If it's the normal usage you are looking for, why are you looking for a dedicated gpu in a laptop.
17 inch is good for work and content consumption but bad for portability.

Bought last year for children's studies (15+ year old)

ASUS TUF Gaming F15 (2022), Intel Core i5-12500H 12th Gen, 15.6" (39.62 cm) FHD, Gaming Laptop (8GB/512GB/4GB NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3050 /Win11/1-Zone RGB Backlit KB/90WHr/Gray/2.2 kg), FX507ZC4-HN115W

And he is still very happy (takes care of laptop much better then me)
Battery life is amazing
He does gaming around 2 to 3 hours a month (as occupied in studies)
Couple of browsers, youtube, office apps, discord, reddit app, Whatsapp app (always on)

Added 8gb ram (total 16 gb now) and another 512 gb ssd (that's enough for now)
If required will upgrade ram to 32 gb
Running windows 11 smoothly
This product
I need to reformat my post but edit not working.

I have asus A17 2021 model and 17 inch screen is worth it.

Battery of 90whr is good and helps with larger screen. you can turn off 144hz mode and 3050 gpu to save more power.

For light gaming or light games with dota and cs,its ok but graphics intensive games, its not that good, it stutters here and there in between in forza horizon 5. I just do light gaming. Mine completed 3years
