Just was about to post this on reddit, so decided might as well ask here too

Have completed close to 23K KMs, tyre grip was superb but lately its super slippery and bike is 6 yrs old on stock tyres

Wanted to know if any enthusiast here have any recommendation for good pair of tyres (both front and back) for Ninja 300

Honestly i haven't changed bike tires before so not sure about right budget for a good pair

Get either Apollo Alpha H1 or TVS Protorq Extreme.
+1 for Apollo H1. Been using them for last 5k+ kms. Good grip in cornering and wet roads too.
Also spend an extra 500 to get wheel alignment done.

Earlier you could get Metzelers, Michellin and pirelli for 11-15k a pair but since the govt raised taxes on import of tyres, Apollo and TVS are the only good options below 15k.

I really hoped to go for michelin or pirelli this time

how much do they cost now

Michelin Road 5 is 20-21K a set. Pirellli Diablo Rosso 2 were cheap when I got them for my duke in 22 but very expensive now, same price as the Michelins.

I really wanted a set of Road 5 for my Duke 200, then there was the price. TVS Protorq extremes came by and saw they were OEM tyres for the Aprilia RS457. So gave them a shot and I'm very happy with them.

Thanks for the reply

I see my tyre size is 110/70 R17 and 140/70 R17

As long as R17 is maintained its fine if i do +-10 for the Width and aspect ratio

If not whats the limit?

Say if i want to go for wider tyre or something
160/60 or 170/70
whats the max recommend changes we can do to width and aspect ratio

Coz i see TVS is available in 150/60 R17

Protorq Extreme is available in 140/70-17 too. Just go with it. This same tyre in 140 would be a lot grippier than any previous tyre you had, I assume are the stock IRCs?

How is the tyre for horrible roads, i travel like 36kms a day

and 70% of road is exposed gravel pot hole and dirt roads rest 30% is good

will it wear off quick or last for atleast 18-20K (I know depends on rider, but general estimate if possible)

I'm happy with mine. I travel 50kms a day over mostly broken roads. Just today had a heavy braking incident and the front tyre didnt lockup, even with a 300mm disc upgrade and sintered pads, new master cylinder, etc. I am super duper impressed. My tyres have done about 4k kms already.

Any good options for a Ninja 650 (F: 120/70-17 R: 160/60-17)?

TVS has roadhound, theyre pretty decent and costs almost half as much as Michelins, i've heard
