Monitors Suggest - IPS 22/24" Office Use (Budget 7-10k)

Hi,

Any suggestion for good & durable (as my 2 last monitors just last for 5/8yrs. only) 22/24 Inch IPS Monitor?

Looking for IPS as use same maximum time for Read-Read-Type and also for Serial/Movies/Cartoon etc. etc.

Budget 7k -10k, lowest will be prefer, as now days (after 2020) no guarantee even for costly electronic products and warranty is very hard thing that any brand honestly offers without any hassle/lot of headache/complaints etc.

Just bought a MS PRO 225 monitor, and it has been splendid so far, especially for the price I bought it for (I bought it for 5100 on Amazon, but it is currently 6500). You can try looking for other sites or local market for a better price.

Computechstore.in from Thane (Near Mumbai) have same MSI PRO MP225 IPS 21.5 FHD Monitor, is this store is good and can trust to place order with advance payment?

This Monitor have Big Air Vent and my place have lot of dust issue, due to heavy traffic in road and even in 48 hrs. dust particles can seen on system if didn't clean it every 2 days... will these big air vent create issue with such heavy dust keep entering inside monitor via these Hot Air Vents?

They seem to have a contact number and offline address listed, so at first glance they seem legit. (Most fake stores have neither of these listed) also reddit reviews seem to say it's legit although ship[ping is slow:

I found it for a similar price on https://www.pcstudio.in/product/msi-pro-mp225-22-inch-fhd-business-productivity-monitor/ which is also a very reputed seller based in Bangalore (Ankit Infotech)

bro, there's Variety infotech, you can try them, they usually provide good prices (almost matching Lamington rd prices), also, for your dust related query, cover it, not gonna hurt the monitor or atleast at EoD, wipe it and then cover it or ac your room (not the best solution tho)

MSI PRO MP225 IPS 21.5 FHD Monitor have LARGE AIR VENT at back side, it means that monitor may have dispense heat higher compare to other brands, also, I think it's not recommend to cover heat vent of any product.

I can clean dust over surface but what about dust which enter inside back body of monitor via that BIG HEAT VENT, over long period large layers of dust will accumulate inside monitor and it may damage the monitor isn't it? or after warranty period can I open monitor myself and clean dust after very 6-12 months, but in todays cost cutting technology most of parts are joint via Glue instead of Screw, so worried about what to do if in this MSI PRO MP225 IPS 21.5 FHD Monitor too back body cover stick via Glue?

Under 8k with CC offers

I am using its older 165Hz variant for 4.5 years now. After using that, I have tried Dell & Samsung 24" 1080p monitors, both IPS 75Hz, at my parent's place. Both of them have inferior response times even at 75fps & Dell's colours & contrast ratio felt inferior to me. So now using Samsung as a computer monitor & Dell as CCTV monitor at parent's place.

how about back side air vent design in this Acer Monitor, my place is with heavy dust all time (buys heavy traffic road and constant redevelopments of buildings activities going on), also don't have Air Condition but normal ceiling fans and need to keep window open morning to 4.00 PM. Worrying about dust accumulate inside monitor via that back side hot air vent? what you say?

I live in BLR, it is pretty dusty for sure. No need to worry about it. Just buy some meshes for windows & some curtains to lower dust inside your room (for your health).

yes, already have curtain and window with mosquito net but still dust sneak inside with breeze of air and also ceiling fan keep sucking out side air, anyway will try to search some more options and if nothing suit my need (worry about dust) then will go with your suggested Acer one.

dude, it's monitor, a display unit, it doesn't heat up like other pc parts...them meshes and vents are pure design elements (to raise aesthetics) and to dissipate the negligible amount of heat which the display produces inside it.

on the other side tho, if the vents are big, it's good for cleaning :tonguewink:

yes agree with you but, try to understand my concern about dust...

For first 3 yrs under warranty I'm not going to open it for cleaning, also we here on TE very well know how the brand treat to warranty will replace either with refurbished or used one or repair with lot of scratch marks and no one guaranteed about in how many days it will be back to user.

Once dust (smooth like talcum powder) start sneak inside monitor via big vents (MSI PRO MP225 IPS 21.5 FHD Monitor) it accumulate there on parts/plug/circuit etc. and in next monsoon will start absorbing humidity and will create perfect environment for short-circuit inside monitor, I'm just 300-500 meter away from Mumbai Seashore, and everyone know how notorious Mumbai monsoon is, once start can continued for 7-10 days with heavy shower spell too.

Any more suggestion friends... about quality of
  1. MSI
  2. ACER
  3. AOC
  4. Lenovo
  5. Samsung
  6. LG
  7. Dell
Please give your input, will help me to go with better screen

Can never predict when electronics develop faults especially in India dusty environment. What I would suggest is to get extended warranty like Acer for a bit of peace of mind. However dust is usually not covered but if the dust causes a malfunction in internals then it will be covered.

Instead of buying extended warranty from third part like amazon, croma its sometimes easier to get it from manufacturer/vendor like Acer itself. If you can get extended 2 years then it covers for 5 years which is a pretty decent amount.

IMO it's best to just get a cheap monitor (5-6k), use them till they die out (they have 3 year warranties anyway) and just replace. It's for office use anyway so high specs aren't required. Extended warranties aren't very cheap either.

But how much it cost because if it cost too much then might not be worth buying over getting a new monitor at that time.

5k for a new 22" 1080p monitor is a good low price. So better consider it as 5k spent for 3 years, if it runs longer, good for you. 3rd party extended warranties exist, not sure how good they are.

you are right, but there are various brands they do not left any stone to harass buyers even in warranty period, wish to avoid such brands, please provide some more suggestion for good IPS Monitor brand that at least take care consumers in warranty period?

Yes, along with you @OMEGA44-XT too suggest ACER brand but while searching at reddit/quora I found few negative thread about acer after sales service and issue with Monitor QC

@ykumar00 also suggest MSI but my 2 different offline dealer not ok with MSI, through both are ready to provide me competitive rate compare to any Online/Ecommerce website.

this MIS monitor has 8 bits (6 bits + FRC) ....

Frame rate control
Pure 8 bits is technically better. 6 bits uses FRC (Frame Rate Control) to get the desired 16.7 million colors of 8bit.

Frame rate control (FRC) is a method for achieving higher color quality in low color resolution display panels such as TN+film LCD.

Most TN panels represent colors using only 6 bits per RGB color, or 18 bit in total, and are unable to display the 16.7 million color shades (24-bit truecolor) that are available from graphics cards. Instead, they use a dithering method that combines adjacent pixels to simulate the desired shade.

FRC is a form of temporal dithering which cycles between different color shades with each new frame to simulate an intermediate shade. This can create a potentially noticeable 30 Hz flicker.

Source:- Reddit

6-bit can display 262,144 colors (which is really not that many), while 8-bit can do 16.8 million colors.

FRC can be used here to simulate 6-bit as 8-bit color, by flashing 2 colors every other frame to get an "average" color. The means that to your eye, it appears almost like an 8-bit display.
