Laptops Hackintosh on AMD mid end laptops?

Has anyone tried using Hackintosh on mid spec laptops? How is the experience like? I had tried hackintosh on my intel main pc few years ago, and it took a lot longer to get it set up than I had imagined but it was a rewarding project. Could not get the wifi or bluetooth to work but still accomplished what I wanted. I have a HP laptop with ryzen 5300u processor. Has anyone tried it out on such mid spec laptops? How was your experience and is it worth going through the hassle?

Not Laptop but in Intel i3 8gen 8gb ram PC I was able to successfully install hackintosh. It runs decently.
It's quite a hassle. If you have lot of time to experiment you can surely do.
Anything can go wrong even if u follow all the steps.
You need to figure out your own reason of kernel panic.
Left the project due to lack of time.

I successfully managed to run hackintosh with ryzen 5 3600 and Nvidia turing GPU, it took many tries to get it running successfully, requires lots of time and patience.

Not worth it. Do not waste your time and effort. You can do something more meaningful and useful in that time. Moreover, you can easily get an old Mac mini under 30k.

I built few hackintosh back in the day, in 2024 there is no reason to build one. Specially with the new mac mini. In old days there were few reasons to built hackintosh, one of them was for music production, there was some apple music software that people needed, because it had plugins, those were paid, so with a hacked hackintosh with hacked software with hacked plugins, it was much cheaper than doing this setup legitimately. The music people didn't need anything else in the system as long as sound, USB ports and internet via ethernet is working, they didn't care about updates, because updates on hackintosh can break things easily.

Is there any advantage to running macintosh?
I used to run one and like @Heisen said, there’s no point in running one these days. Unless of course you have the hardware lying around and the time.

Mostly though, people do it because they can. For the thrill and fun of it. The same reason why we do most things in life - For the feeling of having done something.

you have a sff or mini pc with intel ot ryzen ,so you put windows which will drag the pc down make it slow ,next is linux which is difficult for the avg person but fast and finally is mac which is technically a linux simliarly fast ,mayb faster but need time and patient to install but satisfaction
i did the hackintosg sff ryzen 2400g with only vega 11 graphics ,works great perfect sleep ,handoff with iphone with a added r2d2 boot sound when booting

I was able to get macOS working perfectly with my earlier desktop which had a Ryzen 2700 and a Radeon RX 570. Getting all the configs and kexts was too much of a hassle; luckily I was able to find an EFI folder for a PC with similar specs.

With a laptop it would be a lot trickier, I assume. Though the r/Hackintosh subreddit has a lot of ThinkPads running macOS.

I have done hackintoshing multiple times especially with Laptops and by and Large my experience has been it’s not worth the effort in the end, especially with the Laptops… There are too many things to fix in the end and you end up fixing more stuff than using.

With desktops it kinda works as you can choose and replace parts compatible with apple ecosystem or ones Apple has used in Macs before and it’s easy to replace and switch parts on a Pc .

From ordering the right Wireless Adapters from Fenway or whatever to making wireless work the right way to fixing sound issues sometimes and I generally I dual boot with windows which can sometimes cause bootloader issues which need fixing.

IMO hackintoshing is a good Learning experience and Loads of fun but imo for proper mac experience it’s better to do it on Pc and Laptop.

t. Could not get the wifi or bluetooth to work but still accomplished what I wanted

On this issue u just need to switch the Wi-Fi / Bluetooth adapter to one used by apple in some of their past machines and you are good to go. Ali express used to be a good resource for that but From what I know it doesn’t work in India Anymore ?

I generally get those from Fenway and couple of other guys from Netherlands via eBay and it shouldn’t be that hard to find some here in local markets if you are committed to make the wireless work on the hackintosh . But ultimately in my experience hackintosh on laptops lacks the oomph and the snappiness u generally associate with a macOS until you go deep and fix and replace kernels and long term it’s not worth the effort .
