Would've ideally preferred it with the mitx/itx build I got, specially with it being a dual slot but not worth it at that perf/price point.

Seems like it. Or get a used 4080/4080 Super. Both should be priced similarly I feel. If the 4070 Ti had 16GB VRAM, definitely would have suggested that one but NVIDIA nerfed it.

RTX 5090 is nothing but pathetic, I am sure that 5090Ti or Super will be in the works. Now want to see how good the AIB cards are in temps and if RTX 5080 beats the RTX 4090 or not.

You might hit the VRAM limit if playing at 4K with the 4070 Super/Ti. For 1440p, 12GB is fine. For 4K, 16GB is recommended right now.

is 4k even worth it 1440p at 27 inches looks sharp as hell, plus there are some great budget 1440p monitors which have become available recently.

4070 isn't meant for 4k. Sure it could run but still not meant for it by unless one wants to compromise on the graphics quality.
