LASIK has a lot of issues. Please search lasik on Twitter and find out. Small subset of people are left in excruciating pain. Most doctors in Eye hospitals will wear glasses or contact lenses, they never get lasik.

An ex member of Linus tech tips also posted a video about it.

Reason why i never bothered with it. Even if its say 1 in 100 or 1 in 1000 ( which is very high imo) risk is too much vs minor inconvenience.
And then once you get older, eyes will get issue again.

There are many alternatives to LASIK now, they don't need to cut open a flap anymore. It is worth it to look into SMILE and other options. But as other people commented, nothing has a 100% success rate vs the minor inconvenience of wearing prescription glasses.

Hello fellow members, I'm currently using specs for -4.5, but it has been same for the last 1 year.
I was planning for either lenses or Lasik, should I take the chance with Lasik, or simply get lenses ( I don't know how would they feel in my eyes ).

Wearing specs regularly is the best option as even after lasik one has to wear specs be it 0 power.
nope my sister got her lasik done in 2012 she's still not wearing any spectacles that time only few hospitals used to do lasik , we got it done at Sankara Nethralaya Chennai.
should I take the chance with Lasik,
there is nothing like taking chances in lasik now maybe 10 yr ago you could have asked the same question but now its pretty easy and straightforward, my seniors here in patna are doing min 3-4 lasik every day

Yeah, this small risk might be worth it. I will probably take a week off after may and get Lasik done. Might have to plan other things accordingly.

There are several methods and procedures available now depending on your budget, I got SMILE done 2 years ago and have faced no issues whatsoever.

@OP consult a doc, your brother can still be a good candidate if he doesn't have other eye problems.

My whole family's elders including extended family aged 70 years to 82 years under went Cataract done in Maxi Vision Super Speciality Eye Hospitals in Begumpet & Somajiguda, Hyderabad. While my niece aged 27 years under went Lasik surgery and now she does not wear any specs at all. Before she used to wear specs with thick glasses from 8 years onwards.

All FAQS regarding LASIK is given here: Check it once...https://www.maxivisioneyehospital.com/treatments/lasik-surgery/

My daughter is using specs since 2 years. She went to DAE Approved Hospital and got here eye sight measured and later went to Lawrence & Mayo and bought Tommy Hilfiger Glasses done. We are thinking of getting LASIK for her after she completes her degree. Her eye doctor is suggesting age between 20 to 30 years for LASIK.
