Looking for a decent one. Not the really expensive ones but certainly not those unreliable ones either. Are those which run on electricity more accurate and reliable than the battery ones? Pls suggest one if you have good experience with any.

I use an AmazonBasics, and it's pretty accurate. Not sure how it compares to electric models, though.
HealthSense: KS70 for normal range and usage.
Hoffen Digital Kitchen/Coffee Weighing Scale: KSS-301 for more precise and minute-range usage.
Both are semi-metal/metal builds and are of great quality per my usage. It is much better to invest 1-1.5k upfront as such purchases are once in a half-decade/decade and these things don't break easily and remain functional for years.

my amazon basics scale died within a year
The AmazonBasics scale is absolute trash IMO. It has an area at the bottom that is depressed and has a raised lip. This raised lip is higher than the feet, with the result that the scale can never lie flat on a surface and always wobbles.
How that abomination of a design managed to get approval from the Amazon sourcing people to be sold with the Amazon branding is a further testament to how Amazon seems to be doing a lot of stuff with eyes wide shut these days.

I usually just steer away from any white labelled Amazon Products, be it Solimo or Basics.
'China ka Maal' equivalent of Online Marketplaces lol.
If you want to buy some mass produced stuff on a budget, HomeCenter is much better in comparison if you have a branch in your city.
I have very basic kitchen scale and I have compared with various scales in shops.
And it was quite accurate.
If don't want to spend much just buy generic one with good reviews.

Most brands are trash. I've used a lot. I use renpho currently and it's the best I've used. It's a bit expensive tho. 4.8k on amazon rn. I don't use it's app functions. Only for weighing food.
I use an imported kenwood scale . Very good . May be you can try with someone overseas if you have friends .

There is this generic Chinese scale, they all look alike. It seems reasonably accurate for measuring say 10g + weights although i use it to measure something that weights around 250gm.
Its durable, it has a flaw that after a year or two it might start to wobble. All you have to do is tighten a screw at the bottom behind paper label.
This isn't useful for very small and accurate measurements if you need that.

That said no harm in buying something better since these things can last. But how to tell something is actually better ?

Does this Atom scale can measure anything from 500gms to 1kg to 5 kgs rightly na? Its very cheap and also have good reviews as well.

As long as entire weight is on the flat surface, yeah. I use it to measure something around 250gm.
Just measured 3kg of wheat and it came out close, few gms higher probably due to packaging.
For extremely accurate and small weights, may need better ones else this is fine.

I use this one, its fairly accurate for day to day stuff, but it can't measure something like <5 gms, max supported is 5kg
