What do you think about recent Ranveer IGL controversy?

It's totally manufactured. To paraphrase another quote, worse things have been said by better people. Not to mention of course the vile things the anchors (and "debate" panelists) of today spout in the name of "news".
And I think this community would be better served by giving it the exact amount of attention it deserves, which is zero.

Moreover, they copied the controversial question directly from some old western YT channel.

When a show gets too big you can't say stuff like that in India. This is what AIB found out. Can't believe these comedians lack such basic awareness. If you want to be big then your only option is to move to Kapil Sharma style stuff. I don't support the backlash btw, but it is what it is.

The question was, and keep in mind that this is a 'dark jokes' platform: 'Would you rather watch your parents have sex every day or join in once and have it stop?'
Why is everyone confounding this with AIB? AIB's dissolution had nothing to do with the infamous Bollywood roast they had, as everyone seems to think. Roast was in 2014, at the peak of their fame. There was some backlash but that died out pretty quickly. AIB finally dissolved years later around 2017-18 because of allegations of sexual misconduct/harassment against one of the staff, which management (i.e. Tanmay, Khamba - who also had allegations against him btw - Rohan, et al) instead of investigating properly as their 'feminist' outlook would have had them do, did the traditionally patriarchal 'bros before hos' thing and tried to cover it up.
If you recall, AIB was at the time known for their comedy as well as their progressive outlook; that item song parody they did with Irrfan is often shared on Insta etc. as 'truth' or whatever. And otherwise also in interviews and whatnot, they projected themselves as feminists and quite vocal ones too. But of course it was all talk and no walk. When the time came to live up to those purported values, they did a Google/Alphabet and metaphorically got rid of 'Don't Be Evil'.
Eventually the whole allegation thing came to a head and Tanmay and Khamba (and some others I guess) had to leave the company. AIB the company also shut down soon after. Sexual-harassment-cover-upper Tanmay has had a comeback recently because obviously covering up sexual harassment is less morally egregious than talking about parents having sex - the act which bore all of us. "yEaH bUt He'S bEeN aWaY fOr So LoNg ShOuLd He SuFfEr AlWaYs?" Yes he should. He and his cronies built a large part of his platform by saying the right kind of things that got him his progressive audience, not to mention the piles of money he made off them. But when push came to shove he showed his true colours. He should be ashamed to show his face in polite society ever again.

Yeah I was referring to the backlash only. My memory may not be super accurate, but the backlash was enough for celebs to stay away from them for a while because of all the FIRs and what not. That does hurt you if you want to make big money and go mainstream.
They were already mainstream. I mean the roast happened with the creme de la creme of Bollywood present. It was not less than a Filmfare night. Only notable absentees where the Khans. But Emperor KJo was there and even partook in the jokemaking, all of which were no doubt written by AIB.
But like I said, there was some backlash and possible an apology or two but I doubt it affected them that much. If anything, it solidified their audience even more because the people were obviously supporting them. Even Bollywood didn't stay away from them; AIB has podcast episodes and videos with the likes of Ranbir Kapoor, Kangana Ranaut and even SRK right up until around 2018 at least.
