Sniper The Last Stand - 4/10, Acting was bad, fights were senseless why would anyone fight hands-on in a gun fight also trying to copy John Wick style and failed miserably (too slow and the moves felt forced)

I had no major expectations going into this one, but I had heard good things about it over the years on the internet so I was at the least a bit optimistic. The situational tragic comedy starts strong and ends with even stronger notes. The actors give an impeccable performance coupled with the impactful sound design and soundtrack providing a comedic performance that is very reminiscent of the times when it was made, and it hasn't aged a bit. It's hilarious, relatable, and balanced to the minute details in maintaining a tonality that many recent comedic flicks miss the mark on; which is to still have heart and earnestness in the plot despite its offbeat nature. Standout performances by the lead actor and the actor who plays the protagonist's brother are so magnetic that you will be staying to watch the film just for their performances even if the plot is too mundane or boring for you.

Guess the saying that Germans don't have a sense of humour is incorrect after all because this production from the country proves otherwise.

A very easy 9/10.

Some more romcoms

^These two are hilarious and engaging

Guy helps desperate gal score by explaining how men are and then ends up falling for her and breaking all the advice he gave her. There are other subplots on the side here that work well

7/10 for the lot

Have you watched The Ugly Truth?

It's so good to watch such simple rom-com movies, without having any complex or world-is-going-to-end plot lines.
This one or should I say series of three are more rom and less com. Very engaging, well thought out dialog. Just two people talking. Bare essentials and nothing more.

What would you do if you met someone, instantly connected and then realised you had just 24 hours together.

When the first came out there was no expectation of a sequel. It got made a decade later and another the decade after by the same director and actor for 'artistic' reasons.

8/10

I miss watching these. The 90s was full of these. Now, I don't know where to look. Something as simple as One Fine Day is so much fun every time you watch it.

^saw this recently and found it quite good

And there is no shortage of these movies at all. Each decade brings a new crop and there are series on top. Just see the movie recommends in imdb under any movie to get an idea for what to watch next

Spy Game (2001) - 8/10

Kept my phone on silent. Dived into the movie and Robert Redford's superlative performance kept me completely hooked. Brad Pitt was fantastic too.
I like the scene where the assignment is to appear on the balcony of a penthouse. Only half an hour to figure out how to.

This movie made me look for other similar movies by Robert Redford. The one below has him in the spy business. Different movie altogether.

Another worth considering but this is more about hacking
