If you want good rendering time, I would recommend pro due to better thermals compared to air. Otherwise wise for normal taks air is fine

Pro is a better option with active cooling. It does make a lot of difference in performance in Indian weather and with higher workloads.
Pro has active cooling, the Air has passive cooling. Apart from this, the Pro would have more ports - useful when you have to connect external drives. Would recommend TB3/4 drives from AE or the likes with NVME SSDs

I think Air should be enough. It is good enough for 4K editing, so it should work great for 1080p which is theoretically a fourth of the load of 4K.

The answer to this question is yes. Get Air if you just want to get-by without spending tons of money.
Go for Pro if,
- This is your profession
- You are expecting to edit higher res footage at some point
For heavy duties, Pro is the way to go! I use M2 Pro for my work and a M4 mini. even M4 mini sometime need to start the fans for me
so in laptop format, just get the pro with better cooling.
