AMD 850i ITX Build

Anyone know how long it takes for newly announced boards take to make it through to retail channels?

I want to replace my aged 4790K PC. Will be used mostly for Home Theatre use (Music and 4K/HDR Movies, Netflix, Hotstar etc) with occasional video editing. Maybe gaming sometimes for odd youth who happens to visit my house.

So this is the newly announced MSI Mini-ITX board I'm particularly interested in. Question is if it officially gets released in a month or so - how long before it makes to Indian Online sellers?

I’m not in a rush to upgrade so happy to wait for this particular Board cause it’s perfect for my needs.

Other components I’m look to buy:

AMD Ryzen 9600/X, Noctua Cooler
2 x PCI-e gen3, M.2 2TB Samsung SSD’s
32GB Hynix-M based Memory, Corsair or G.Skill
Lian-Li A3 wooden fronted case
3 x Noctua Fans

Already have Nvidia 3050 Graphics Card and ASUS Strix 650W PSU which I’ll reuse from my current PC.

Maybe never. ITX and SFF builds are still niche here which does not see as much demand as their bigger counterparts unfortunately. So ITX boards take time and some of them never really come ashore. Given the case you selected, you have the option of going Micro ATX so why not look at those ?

ITX ARE available: MSI MPG B650I Edge WIFI

B650I has Realtek Wifi, B850I has Qualcomm Wifi 7 otherwise I'd have got the B650I

I'll keep the new Build for next 5 years at least so dont mind spending a bit more.

Two reasons for MSI B850 range:

They have switched to Qualcomm chipset much better, have had horrendous problems in the past with shoddy Realtek drivers.

Has Wifi 7 so future-proofing as you say and MSI B850 support 320MHz channel width too.
 
ITX build is a patience game. It took me several months to build mine. Lot of the components never enter India like cases and low profile GPU's. You have to make do with what's available.

Newer ITX board might arrive in limited stock and they are not re-stocked. I waited months for ASUS ROG Strix B650E-I Gaming WiFi to be restocked and it never happened. I ended up with MSI B650I Edge. Which isn't bad either. My advise is not to get fixated on one board, keep plan b and c.

Ok I better let others know why I want ITX.

I'm an expat and plan to move back to London either next year or the year after. I want to take the the Board with me in my Hand luggage.

Also, later I want to make a teeny-weeny PC to put under the TV with just M.2 storage and a IGPU.

You can expect at least one ITX board eventually, but be prepared to pay the ITX tax, and it might not be the exact board you want. For B650, there were only 3 ITX boards lauched in the Indian market, of which only 2 were decent.

My advice for your particular situation - Build a regular non-ITX PC, and when it's time to move, carry your CPU, GPU, SSD, RAM, PSU, and sell the rest of stuff (mobo and case) here for cheap. Would be way more convenient.

Wise words my friend! But, But look at how beautiful this looks(can be made with mATX too but would prefer not to, sounds dumb I know !

I like Fractal using their case with my old 4790K System, nicely designed.

Normally ya you get a huge choice in the UK. But I dont know whats going on at the moment seems to be a dearth of MSI ITX Boards over there. Think they are cutting back production due to the tariff situation.

I live in Gurugram but been there a few times. You can try calling SMC international or cost to cost. I have been to SMC international a long time ago so don't know how they are these days. Haven't been to cost to cost. As for lamington road you will need to google/youtube or maybe someone can hook you up with known vendors.
Also you have the option of trying to reach someone from main brands through social media handles asking them regarding the availability of whatever you want. Of course response time might vary and you might be left waiting for their reply.

SMC International are the only ones who stock this B850M Mortar

Is this the same company you are referring to in your post? Cause they are the only ones who have this particular Board in stock. Thats in all of India! Reddit guys are ordering it direct from China because not available to buy in the US.

Are SMC reliable and trustworthy?
