Review Do people still use Antivirus in 2025? Or just Windows security?

I've been using avast from win xp era, later used kaspersky, quickheal in windows 7.
After win10 and now win11, there was no need of any 3rd party antivirus.
 
ESET Antivirus paid on 2 low end machines and ESET Internet Security on another two. Got 2 year - 2 device licenses for cheap on amazon in October 2023.

I need them to ensure online payments security. I do quite a few online banking transactions. Never relied on Microsoft Defender.
 
I don't use Anti-virus on my personal machines, on the laptops used extensively by elders I have Bitdefender. The incremental benefits of modern anti-virus suites are largely protection against spoofing and malware installs which target old people.
 
It depends on what is the requirement . , Only Antivirus Windows Defender is sufficient but if requirement is comprehensive protection against Virus malware , Ransomware ,Phising defender is not enough at all
