depends on your budget. we are not yet to its potential like 12500mhz. 7k+ MHZ is here. so if you want to jump the wagon then sure. Intel ships with ddr5 before amd. but now amd is also on it while being cheaper than what ddr4 based platforms where costing.

if you have budget then Max Chips else Pro chips. the difference is of GPU cores you get which will be the factor for 3d and other stuff. With M4 max cpu cores are 16, but for GPU its 16, 20, 32, 40 cores for Pro and Max chips respectively
The m2 macbook pro of mine (actually not mine :arghh:) is also 256gb and 16gb ram. but I don't do recording or something on it. I wonder if recording would have some issue there? talking about system storage has I can always extend to an ssd.

this is what is really bothering me. I most of the time spend time on the desk. but might start traveling in future and don't know if I would need a laptop or not in those time. or I can do is get a mac mini now and then later on get macbook air with m4 if it works. Man this is so confusing...
