    71-90K Non-gaming laptop for work

Lunar lake already seems to be giving Snapdragon a run for its money in the battery department. Hoping, the fight among Snapdragon, Lunar lake and Strix point and their successors rejuvenates the ultra portable category.

90K+ Performance limited by the Apple M1 — more cores, faster cores, or back to x86?

I think I have had the same predicament as you on the windows side though. Have mostly used many laptops with U series processors(Intel 6th gen, 10th gen, ryzen 4800u-8c/16t) and have been starved of performance or battery or both. Eventually was fed up and just decided to retire both my many...

    71-90K Non-gaming laptop for work

Additionally, repair cost are scary in case something goes bad god forbid. A colleague had to pay 63k for MB reaplacement when his M1 's charging circuitry went bad. I paid 3.5k for my gigabyte laptop after it stopped charging to a local laptop repair shop. Lack of a mature used macbook market...

21-30k Buying used Thinkpads from laptop resellers in BLR ?

Sure. Right now talking to all resellers only and they are fairly fixed at price 25% below Amazon refurbished thinkpads. They generally give 2-4 weeks of testing warranty. Any specific model you looking for ?

21-30k Buying used Thinkpads from laptop resellers in BLR ?

I talked to several of these laptop reselling shops in the city - they generally get the laptops from either MNCs in India or outside. The laptops in question are Thinkpad X1 Carbons and Yoga - generally with 8th -10th gen Intel processor and out of company warranty but ~1 month reseller...

90K+ Need laptop for random home usage(heavy coding, R&D, multimedia)

Thats like my dream laptop lol especially for linux. That ryzen cpu is so good but cant afford it :weary: Currently looking at X1Cs in the used market. The to-launch lunar lake Asus expertbook P5 looks good. it had legit two m.2 ports. So windows and linux in each :)

No Compromise Air Cooled ITX under 10L (Fractal Terra)

Haha thanks. Actually this approach is quite mainstream now. The PSU only powers the GPU. The miniPC (Minisforum UM780XTX) has its own 120W power adapter and a Oculink port through which data from CPU goes to the GPU. Many miniPC manufacturers after seeing the popularity of this approach of...

90K+ Need laptop for random home usage(heavy coding, R&D, multimedia)

Let us know how the battery backup is. Ive heard the dGPU doesnt consume 0 watts even when its not in use. Apparently optimus is far from perfect after all these years.

No Compromise Air Cooled ITX under 10L (Fractal Terra)

Welcome to the SFF club, always fun to see anyone joining and this group growing and reading about their cooling predicaments. :D I also went through the same Qs when I build my 10L 6.5 kg gaming PC in a node 202 a few years back, obsessing over cooling, trying different fan hacks to make sure...

    15-20K Spoiled by Poco F1 - looking for a 5G alternative

I too wish I could run arm linux on a phone with display out to a monitor. That would be awesome ! Oh! The one time I have taken an open box delivery I just made sure the item was there in the box and not a vim bar ! Didnt know we could test it out like this before giving the otp :D

    15-20K Spoiled by Poco F1 - looking for a 5G alternative

I have been eyeing it also. It has the same dimensions as F1 thanks to no bezels. Thanks to the LTPO screen, the SOT I have been seeing in the reviews is not as bad as S23 but actually pretty good standing at 7-8 hours. It will never have custom rom unfortunately but the price is attractive for...

CPU/Mobo Fractal Design Meshify 2 Mini and other M-ATX cases

Well Dan A3 is ~28 litres and Deepcool is ~38 litres. I have easily mitigated airflow & cooling in ~10 litres sff build with slim 120mm fans so should be a cake walk in such massive cases imho. Unless you planning to put 4090 and 14900k in there :)

Storage Solutions SATA SSD - is BX500 good enough ?

I have a used but perfect 850 evo 550gb dram drive that I can consider selling for 1k less than new. Btw dram less drive will not die, dont worry about it.

Storage Solutions SATA SSD - is BX500 good enough ?

Dram less if fine as long as you are not running your OS in it. For gaming it should be fine as an extendable storage option.

    Corsair SF600 aging

Yes, its uncommon but have read a few accounts on reddit where they were facing ocp trips on x watts psu but when they bought brand new of same x watts the ocp trips went away. It s a defective unit after all. Dont want to open it up to check the caps and replace them if they are swollen. will...

    Corsair SF600 aging

Two systems. One SFF and one eGPU box https://pcpartpicker.com/b/yh9NnQ https://techenclave.com/threads/the-everyday-show-off-thread.57621/post-2546984 and two GPUs too. 6600XT and RX6800. So total 4 permutations. It OCP trips lately 6 months when the load goes over ~300W in both the system. For...

    Corsair SF600 aging

Completely unrelated to this, my 5 year old Corsair SF600 with has recently started OCP tripping owing to GPU transient spikes only at around ~300W. With research on reddit, it seems PSUs also age like lithium batteries and their "celing" comes down with time. So my SF600 is now SF300 :p
