Believe it or not, but unamped I would rate the headphones in the following order M50 > HD25-1 II > HD600 > HD650 and exactly in the reverse order if properly amped.

I own a E17 since almost a month now. I use it at my office with my HD25-1 II but i'm starting to feel that althought the amplification and the SNR is really good, the sound signature isn't that good. It kinda makes the bass sound muddy and bloated. Probably get a Audinst MX1 for the same price.

I haven't tried the D1100 so can't really say if its better than the M50 or no. I have tried the D1001, D2k and the D5k. Hence can say that D5k > D2k > M50 > D1001.
