"Do you have XYZ Credit Card?" Thread

I was referring to payment processor converted INR payments, not the card provider one based on Visa/Mastercard bank rates. For international transactions, Amazon or PayPal charges 2.5% without additional GST, so the SBI cashback card provides 2.5% cashback effectively.

"Do you have XYZ Credit Card?" Thread

The Indian AmEx cards all charge 3.5% markup + GST, so not sure why you are looking for it unless there is a discount of over 5% for AmEx cards alone. Otherwise, the offer from @desi_gamer makes more sense. Generally 0 forex cards are better but I generally use my SBI cashback card as I get 5%...

2024 Online Game Deals - Steam, Amazon, Origin, GOG, Humble Bundles

I would classify myself as a patient gamer even when I used to do it regularly, so never spent more than 1k on any title which was mostly on Steam. Initial build up was due to Humble as well as other bundles like on itch.io spread, also across UPlay and Origin with free titles from GOG and...

Any seller/website that provides parts for Samsung watches

Just for reference, never used this site before, but a digitizer assembly is around 5k and the battery would be around 1k. You might be able to bring the parts costs down in total to around 5k not including Labour, but then not sure it is worth it at that cost...

Any seller/website that provides parts for Samsung watches

You can get unboxed versions of it for 8-9k and I think even scraped parts will cost a decent chunk of that. Unfortunately, they are designed to be disposable.

Storage Solutions Need cloud options to transfer and store massive offline data

Not sure how one can think those school licenses are secure. It is easily visible to the admin as @kuduku mentioned above. I think most of these rogue admins allow some of the accounts based on the content they have access to as otherwise those exploiting it a lot are easily banned.

    Budget Fitness Tracker.

For a bit more than the budget, the Fitbit Inspire 3 just about does what you need from a fitness tracker. I don't take it's accuracy seriously but it is extremely useful to meet my daily target as well as for walks/runs. It helps that the sleep tracking is great and I don't need to charge it...

Which generative AI tool have you used the most and how?

The more safety guardrails have been put in, the dumber the AI agents have become with each layer filtering out a bit more of the original content. ChatGPT as a search engine isn't working out well. https://www.theverge.com/2024/12/5/24313222/chatgpt-pardon-biden-bush-esquire And now they are...

2024 Online Game Deals - Steam, Amazon, Origin, GOG, Humble Bundles

During Covid made the most use of GamePass to finish the Yakuza and Halo series within a few months. Haven't had much time to game post Covid and it is just ridiculous to see my combined PC storefront library cross 1000, not in small part due to the free Epic games. I just happened to get a Wii...

Decluttering a wallet + Wallet Recommendations

I have switched to a daily wallet idea where I carry a max. of 4 cards, including ID, debit and credit card. It is superbly compact on account of that with a few notes and coins. Switch to a normal wallet when away from the city as that is when I need multiple cards for backup, as otherwise I...

UnitedHealthcare CEO's Murder - Looks like everyone is celebrating

The use of AI precisely throws the humanity away as it runs by numbers, often based on biased data. If someone gets arrested, goes on trial and then gets exonerated because of a process that favours speed over human intervention, it is anything but humane.

Home air purifiers effective for improving indoor air quality?

https://a.aliexpress.com/_opgbw1P It is actually 15-in-1, so gets more ridiculous.

Which generative AI tool have you used the most and how?

Copilot is better in terms of integration. I don't use it but few at my workplace were initially sceptical of Github Copilot but found it quite beneficial for mundane stuff. However, it is relatively costly compared to visible productivity improvements, so not sure how many companies will commit...

Graphic Cards New Intel next-gen GPU Battlemage rumour pegs it as an RTX 4070 Super competitor with 16 GB VRAM and launching next month

It is difficult to expect anyone to commit to Arc with the impending launch of Nvidia 5000 and AMD 8000 series and its driver limitations. They would have sold decently 6 months back but Intel manages to screw up their launch every time.

Home air purifiers effective for improving indoor air quality?

The problem is having something else to calibrate and compare against. For the fun of it, I ordered a 10-in-1 detector from China only because it cost 2k and has Tuya integration. Will receive it later in the month and see if it anyway correlates with the air purifier indicator. However, any...

How will Trumps threat on 100% tariff on BRICS pan out

The entire target for BRICS was to be the largest economic group by 2050. Quite a long way away in terms of time. Threat against an non-existent sovereign currency is as Trumpian as it gets. Not one expects all these countries to agree on one anytime in the near future.

Home air purifiers effective for improving indoor air quality?

Not sure of what use it will be. It uses one of the worst particle sensors available (Cubic PM1006K). You will not get any reading resembling reality.

Can India break into the top 50 of FIFA ranking in 10 years?

Money into the game means nothing if it is not channelled properly. Reliance for example has done more harm than good to Indian football. As is their modus operandi, they have tried to leech as money as they can with no investment at grassroots or infrastructure development, while also making it...
