    1) DAS Case SilverStone TS431U: https://www.silverstonetek.com/en/product/info/storage/TS431U/ 4-bay 3.5" HDD enclosure from SilverStone. I purchased it in the US a few years ago, not using it anymore. Has support for eSATA as well as USB type B. In my experience, excellent as a way to expand...

    Weird USB dropout

Unlikely that this is a power delivery issue, since each port only does a maximum of 5W. But are these USBs sharing a single PCIe lane? Maybe that lane is bottlenecked by some device causing windows to shut down other devices for lack of bandwidth. Try Ubuntu from a bootable without installing...

Graphic Cards New Intel next-gen GPU Battlemage rumour pegs it as an RTX 4070 Super competitor with 16 GB VRAM and launching next month

Is there no company that manufactures GPUs in India to be able to skip the high import tax?

CPU/Mobo How often do we need a BIOS update?

Lots of new vendors now have support for BIOS updates from Windows itself. They'll apply on the next reboot, but makes it pretty easy to stay up to date with BIOS updates.

OpenWRT compatible Router for 2024 in India

I recently switched to using FreshTomato on my R7000 and I can't believe how easy it was. It's so stupid that I was using Netgear's slow and restrictive firmware for the last few years. Definitely get a router that has support for custom firmwares.

    Review GitHub Actions self hosted

Not sure if you've had any experience with actually using it yet, but how well does it scale with parallel commits and executions? Is there a new VM created for every single task/pipeline?

What will Gen AI do in 2025. How long before AI can self regulate?

Have you seen the news of how they integrated alignment into the CoT process, especially for o3? It's obviously a trade off with latency, but adding alignment as a step during chain of thought seems to be very effective in their benchmarks against o1.

71-90K Looking for a new laptop for development, not gaming

This is incredibly helpful, thanks for this! At the moment I'm a CS student, so virtualization is nice to have, but I have a Hackintosh for those tasks anyway. Any other cons you have against the M1? Just trying to get as clear a picture as possible

71-90K Looking for a new laptop for development, not gaming

Looks good, but the touchpad seems tiny to say the least. I'd love some input on touchpad sizes, never used a laptop for work, only a PC. Is a massive touchpad worth it?

For the M1 I've heard the back to school sales are same as Black Friday. So if I decide to get the M1, will get it immediately. For windows I'll likely buy during black friday. Any things to wait for in the windows laptop segment? That's coming out in the next few months?

Android Phone got damaged...need help urgently

This is actually fantastic advice. However the screen on the not working phone may not be up to spec. Is your original screen broken? Make sure to consider it when you buy a new for-parts device
