No I tried the fastboot mode with power + up volume keys. It goes into the fastboot mode but the command "adb devices" doesn't show anything. Oh am I using an incorrect command? I like the device because it has replaceable battery. But why is the motherboard replacement a waste of money...

No. Its locked. I havent even tried to root it or unlocked the bootloader. Its in factory state.
