Thats the way to go. Edge messes up after some interval for me, I tried pretty much all fixes but didn't work, eventually reset it and it was fixed, now I do not bother with looking for fixes just do the rest.

Absolutely, if you find one in good condition, go for it. My friend has XM3 for a while now and he faced no issues whatsoever so far. I use XM4 and love them to bits.
