    Android Small / Mini Tablets?

Following up with the same Lenovo Legion Tab news: https://www.gizmochina.com/2024/07/17/lenovo-legion-gaming-tablet-price-india/ July 19th, on Flipkart. ₹29K for base model with 12G RAM & 256G storage(*?) Another notable thing would be inclusion of 2x Type-C ports and a headphone jack...

Discover Quality Refurbished Tech at RefurbCo

Congrats @aasimenator ! This is a great deal for us Indians since many of us didn't have any good and trusted refurbished store after eBay :D I hope it works out, and I'll be shopping there soon (hopefully™)! :)

    Android Small / Mini Tablets?

Tablets have no reason not to provide it. And a good IEM/earphone/headphone can make a lot of difference. I'd really love to buy from a more well-known brand, too. Tab S Mini would be so cool, or an updated iPad Mini. But yes, I'm not going it buy it ASAP. I hope there would be more reviews of...

    Android Small / Mini Tablets?

https://www.fonearena.com/blog/426994/lenovo-legion-tablet-india-launch-date.html Seems like the Y700. If it's priced fairly, might be my next purchase! <3

    Please rate my networking setup?

A cheaper way than "Cloud" offerings would be to have a PC/server on your home network, set up a VPN and access LAN devices configuration using that. I used to do that with WireGuard for myself, at least. Honestly, I never really liked repeaters because they were expensive and didn't work all...

Qualcomm Snapdragon X Elite - looks like the Windows world’s answer to Apple Silicon

Intel and AMD have closed source components, for sure, but they're much more open than Qualcomm in general. The part that got closed source after core2duo iirc are the boot firmware things? Or Intel ME, not sure. But overall, they're both much bigger contributors and generally have a lot of...

51-70k need a laptop for college (coding, light gaming) decent battery life, lightweight, bright panel.

I've to add: If gaming is a big priority, a SFF PC might be better suited. Check out the DeepCool CH160 case. Pretty small and cheap. I was planning out a build using it and it costs around 1.6lakh INR with a RTX 4070 and AMD 7800X3D. Going for a cheaper AMD APU and skipping the GPU can cut...

    Software for video edits (Win)

I used to use Sony Vegas in 2016-ish, but for quick edits, I've switched to Kdenlive, at least until Olive matures. For most use cases (add/remove music, edit tracks, make some colour changes etc), Kdenlive works sufficiently well for me, and it was rather intuitive for me to start with. Do...

Indian government moves to ban ProtonMail after bomb threat

That would... depend, but it's rarely ever easy. Whenever multiple countries/destinations comes into play, it becomes really difficult. Even setting that aside, most 'consumers' using Onion wouldn't keep logs, which would make it even more difficult (not impossible by itself, 'technically')...

LPCAMM2 Is Finally Here, and It’s a Big Deal (totally modular, repairable, upgradeable memory standard for laptops)

Just to point this out a bit more: The highest MT boasting DDR5 RAMs are all soldered ones. Also, "hybrid approach" as in one soldered with higher MT or in SoC and one CAMM with lower MT is not a good way because we are bad at memory abstraction as is, you wouldn't want to make it worse. Trust...

LPCAMM2 Is Finally Here, and It’s a Big Deal (totally modular, repairable, upgradeable memory standard for laptops)

A kinda-big IT company that I interned at had their IT section full of Thinkpads with 8GB RAM, which they installed/upgraded afterwards. Different options for different teams. That's probably one use case? They also regularly upgraded RAM on older PCs/laptops, mostly replacing sticks with higher...

LPCAMM2 Is Finally Here, and It’s a Big Deal (totally modular, repairable, upgradeable memory standard for laptops)

We can always hope. And who knows, maybe enterprise users will really love this, and it'll continue as an option there? If it does, it might become an option for the rest of us down the years. Seems unlikely, but we can always hope :D

    Apple Let Loose Event Discussion.

I suppose so, but what kind of work are you able to do on an iPad that you cannot do more efficiently on a Mac, with a dedicated and rather nice keyboard? I can't really think of any scenario that would need a top-spec'd iPad tbh... For cheaper 'video production', people are generally going...

    Apple Let Loose Event Discussion.

The new Pencil 'Pro' costs $130. The new Magic Keyboards cost $300 and $350 for 11 and 13 inch models, respectively. Many CUSTOM mechanical keyboards don't cost that much. The f... Top-specced iPad Pro costs about $4k... I don't really know who needs that. At that point, if you're that into...

Android Poco F1 long term review

Original battery? If not, where did you buy it from? I've seen some replacement batteries, but most have really negative reviews, and that makes me sceptical. I currently just charge it every moment I get lol That is not a good way of using it, so I also have to carry a power bank everywhere...

    25-30k Need a phone under 30k

I'm also a F1 owner and the exact same thing happens to me too... There aren't many better alternatives by value that are above F1. What about Poco F5? Recently bought that for mom, and it works great. Haven't tried Genshin, but CoDm works without lag on High quality settings.

    31-40k Laptop for casual usage

Did you consider Chromebooks? I wonder how they're in India. Most Chromebooks or Android tablets are probably a better bang for the buck if your aim is content consumption :)

Other Importing devices? Any taxes/customs that I should be aware of?

Thank you! I was aware of the US Thread, but a lot of information seemed outdated and customs reviews were all over the place. It's how I got the Singapore bit in my thread. Wasn't aware of the China one, it has tons of information. Thank you!
